Oakland -- Calling for an "early end" to the Afghan bombing campaign, the nation's largest ecumenical agency urged the United States and its allies yesterday to find nonviolent ways to stop terrorism.

Meeting in Oakland, the General Assembly of the National Council of Churches adopted a resolution entitled "Out of the Ashes and Tragedy of September 11, 2001."

I agree: I was so furious and sad that they had Elian sent back to Cuba. They as much as reno and clintons (lower case intentional) were responsible for that horrible act.

The National and World Council of Churches are about as leftist a couple of organizations as there is. If most church leadership had any idea what this organization fronts, they drop the org in a moment.

It is absolutely incredible that the Orthodox Churches who have suffered most from the Mohammedan terror for the last 1300 years would not at least make a whimper supporting the alliance.

You've said it all. This is an evil bunch.

Too bad all those fine people that go to these wicked churches don't get it figured out and leave.

Any Republican sitting in a pew in one of these churches and contributing resources are financing the enemy.

I can't speak to that, not being knowledgeable about it.

The United Methodist Church's stock however, continues to decline with me.
