One thing had quickly linked the kidnapping of Patty Hearst with the Symbionese Liberation Army.  Her kidnappers had fired cyanide-laced bullets into her home---the same type of bullets used four months earlier in Oakland on Election Day to assassinate popular school superintendent Marcus Foster.  The SLA had sent two letters claiming credit for the shooting and declaring war on fascists by trying to stop the issuing of student photo I.D.s—meant to protect students from drug dealers.

More was learned about this terrorist group when two of their "soldiers" were arrested on January 10th, three weeks before the kidnapping, and after the police located an abandoned safe-house with all kinds of propaganda:

• "Symbionese" was derived from the word, symbiosis, meaning dissimilar organisms living in harmony. 
• Their symbol, the seven-headed cobra, represented the seven principles of God and life.
• The leadership showed a strong female influence—and in fact, the actual leader was a lesbian called Mizmoon Soltysik.
• They had a vague agenda of protecting the rights of "the people."
• DeFreeze, 31, was a black ex-con among a handful of white veterans, ex-cons, and disenchanted women.
• DeFreeze's criminal record consisted of a series of petty crimes, and all of his victims had been black.
• DeFreeze took his name, Cinque, from a slave shipped to America who had taken over the ship and then used it to make more slave runs.
• There were currently only nine "soldiers" in this "army," more females than males.
• The SLA appears to have been influenced by 1) the anti-war movements of the 1960s that spread across college campuses and caused riots, and 2) prison programs that urged African Americans to band together as brothers.
• After the Foster killing, they made plans to kidnap Hearst—documents that law enforcement had found before the event but had failed to act upon.

SLA cop killers. To the all of the left back then, cops were considered "Pigs".

I'm not sure if ELF (Earth Liberation Front) or ALF (Animale Liberation Front) have killed anyone yet.

As far as I know so far they just burn people's houses down and stuff like that.

Here's a _real_ interesting example that's still playing out today. It's not about a group doing the killing, but the _killer_ has been profoundly well supported and sheltered by global left-wingers for decades. And the aiding and abetting continues to the present at the highest levels of "society" and possibly government.

Long before O. J. Simpson killed his "all American" beauty, one of the co-founders of Earth Day (!) murdered his former cheer leader, all American beauty girl and this book tells the story. It's the story of Ira Einhorn, a counterculture bigwig who hobnobbed with the likes of Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin before police discovered the badly decomposed body of his girlfriend Holly Maddux in a trunk in his Philadelphia apartment in 1979. Einhorn fled, was tried and found guilty in absentia, and was sheltered by global friends for almost twenty years. He was eventually found in France, and, again _eventually_ extradited to the US. Some big judge just ruled _last week_ that he has "right" to request a new trial for some reason.

The biggest left wing terrorist organization in the world is the US "Establishment." This book is unbelievable reading.

1972 Fraunces Tavern Bombing. Four people die in this bombing at a historic tavern in downtown New York City. The Puerto Rican nationalist group FALN is blamed for the attack, one of the 49 bombings in New York attributed to them between 1974 and 1977

1975 LaGuardia Airport Bombing. Eleven are killed, 75 are injured in this attack by Croatian nationalists at this New York City Airport.

1981 Kennedy Airport Bombing. One man is killed when a bomb planted by a group calling itself the Puerto Rican Armed Resistance goes off in a men's bathroom at New York City's international airport.

1983 U.S. Senate Bombing. A bomb goes off in the cloak room next to U.S. Senate in the Capitol Building. Two left-wing radicals plead guilty to the attack.

Such things are generally not reported or reported as being associated with the left. Even the Unibomber was not described as a leftist. During the 60s and 70s there were over 500 bombings per year in America, mostly by leftists, but were not reported or reported as such.
