What I don't get is why these beings insist on wearing that silly garb. Can you imagine Prince Charles visiting the WH wearing a crown and long red cape?

The Marine was not saluting Prince Saud al-Faisal. GENERAL ORDER 10: To salute all officers and all colors. I'm sure DUBYA, and others, where somewhere around that doorway.

What I don't get is why these beings insist on wearing that silly garb. Can you imagine Prince Charles visiting the WH wearing a crown and long red cape? From an objective viewpoint (i.e., what someone would think if they had just freshly arrived from Mars), his headgear doesn't look any more goofy than the Marine's hat.
I've never understood hats anyway, except for those rare times when someone's head actually needs protection from the sun.

How about this - GWB rejected a meeting with Yasser Arafat at the United Nations this weekend. Al-Faisal was the compromise.
