Part ten of Band of Brothers is on HBO this evening. It will be the conclusion of the miniseries. Who out there has been watching this show? I'm curious as to what viewers have thought of this program.
I've really enjoyed it. I thought it was well produced. Last week's episode (part nine) was pretty emotional. I wound up rewinding it and watching it again.
I can't wait to see how it ends. I will actually miss looking forward to new episodes.

I read the book. Where did part 9 end? (The TV series may not follow the book so I don't want to tell you how the book ended)

Fabulous!!! Awesome!!! Awe Inspiring!!! Incredible series. My wife will be glad it is over however. I let everyone know they are not supposed to call our house between 8-930 PM Central.
Spielberg has created another masterpiece. VERY patriotic.

For a while there, I couldn't believe that Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks could be associated with something so perfect (Spielberg's
List is an abomination). However, the last several episodes have taken an ugly turn - Easy Company men & officers getting drunk, looting civilian dwellings, being insubordinate - and a dark undertone is emerging. An awful lot of things that have happened look suspiciously like war crimes.
I hope there is a final scene with the surviving men of Easy Company paired up with the actors who played them.

I have watched it faithfully. Series like Band of Brothers will hopefully teach the younger generation how much our men and women in the military have sacrificed for this great country. May God bless them and keep them close.

When (if ?) is the entire series gonna be released on DVD ?

An awful lot of things that have happened look suspiciously like war crimes. I'm afraid these dark undertones were very real. The men were sick of the war and would do anything to 'get away'. My great uncle (a SEABEE) told me any stories like this that occurred while he was in the Pacific.
One in particular that sticks in my mind. His unit found several cases of saki (30-40). The men were sooo excited to find it and were getting ready to hane it out to the Marines and Army. My uncle decided it would be better to feed it to the POW's first. Guess what? 25 dead POW's.

I hope there is a final scene with the surviving men of Easy Company paired up with the actors who played them. I believe there is a whole program about this. I could've sworn I saw previews for such a show. If there is, I'm thinking it will air after the miniseries concludes.

You get your wish! Tonight part 10 covers Easy Company's (2 BN 506th PIR) in Brechtesgaten and post-war duty in Austria. On Sunday, November 11th, Veteran's Day, a special with the REAL men of Easy Company will be shown. I too read the book, and the men of Easy Company are REAL, and REAL American HEROS to boot!

I've watched it and think it's excellent. My father was in the Ardennes, so I enjoyed that part. He has often spoke of how cold it was. The show seemed to capture that well.

Anyone who thinks the EVERY soldier in the US Army in Europe was pure and good as the driven snow is pretty naive.

Fabulous show, and very well done. I've been watching it religiously (or as religiously as I do anything).

Actually, the miniseries is very true to the book (and to Webster's book,
Parachute Infantry which is not really being credited) and in many cases fleshes out some incidents with more detail than was available in 1990-1992. There have been a few dramatic licenses, but not many. These guys were not saints, but tough combat soldiers.
DVD release is scheduled for Christmas timeframe, I heard many months ago, but I have not been able to find any info on it.

my husband and I think highly of Band of Brothers and we are sorry that there were only ten installments...we have watched most of the shows...twice.

Loved every minute of it. I'm sad that tonight's episode is the last - television at its very best.

Superb! I cannot recall an American production that so unblickingly shows the randomness of combat, nor the comradship that make men stay toge against any instinct of self-protection. I did find Episode 9 a bit didactic, and I kept asking myself: Where did they get all these skinny actors?

When (if ?) is the entire series gonna be released on DVD ? The FReeper in post 14 seems to think around Christmas. That would be my guess as well. I imagine HBO won't re-run the entire series. I, for one, plan on buying it on DVD. I hope there are a lot of extras.

I specifically subscribed to HBO for Band of Brothers (of course I'll be unsubscribing after the series is done). I thought the series was awesome, although the action did slow down after the 3rd or 4th episode. Pretty good so far. I'm looking forward to the Veterans's Day special of interviews with the surviving members of Company E.
