FBI Seeks van, possible bomb in mall?

Just reported on the 10 PM WBZ radio news broadcast:

FBI is seeking a rental type Ryder Van that was stopped trying to enter the parking garage at the Cambridge Mass Galleria mall at about 7 PM. When the back doors of the van were opened by security personnel, there were 6, 55 gallon drums duct taped to the vans walls along with gas type cans also taped to the walls.

The van then sped off. The FBI is asking for anyone seeing the van with possible license plate of 4789H7 to contact Police or the FBI.

I'm not worrying and fretting, I just will not go to places I think they're apt to target. We are not safe as long as the enemy is left to have total access to this country and to the people here. We already know they intend to kill us, if you choose to make yourself a target then go ahead. When the government gets serious about "providing for a common defense" which is one of the few duties it has, then life can be normal again. I did take my kids trick-or-treating, but not to areas with Arab Muslims.

Duct taped? A few 2x4's nailed in place would have been a lot easier.

i'm listening to the Mass. state police scanner and they just reported they think they have the van in sight on hwy 133 (i think) with OK license plates.

Oh no, officer; I am fully aware that this van thing is not related to terrorism in any way. I'm willing and able to refinance the home now and go to the mall and move on.

No, their idea is to cause terror. Yes, the act is an act of terror, and has the potential to kill many people, but their point is not to so much to kill (they know that this can't kill enough people to win the war) but to strike fear into the enemy. As a poster already stated, an attack on shopping malls would be a major economic victory for the terrorists, as people would avoid them just as the holiday season that American retailers need for a boost in this "soft economy". The prospect of crowds and long lines is bad enough, but long lines to check every car and every bag going into the malls (as the Israelis do) is going to put a damper on things.
