USO Canteen Freeper Style
War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil. We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.
On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.
William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."
The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.
This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."
We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.
This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.
Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!
"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

Good evening, Snow Bunny fellow Canteeners.
Schwartzkopf Bear is so cute...do you have a Rumsfeld bear? (^:
Speaking of Stormin' Norman- did you ever hear the good General tell the story about how he used dishwashing detergent instead of dishwasher detergent in the dishwasher and how the resulting soapsuds flooded his kitchen? Tough on scum and tough on the kitchen. LOL!
I'll bet his wife chooses to do the dishes, now, that clever man.
Our tough guys are asking for he-man food? Does the Canteen have a barbecue grill out back? I'll provide the imaginary steaks and ribs - even throw in a whole hog. It's a glorious Fall evening for a Taliban pig roast. (@:

Stepping right up to help ya with the meal. I've got 3 trays of deviled eggs for the folks to nibble on while they wait,,,, and since I didn't have much time, I threw together a potato caserole. Will someone throw this garlic bread in the oven while I get the plates and silverware out?
(And this is for real folks,,,, I've been off cigarettes for about 8 wks due to back surgery,,,, BUT, I found a partial pack of cigs in a coat pocket today,,,,, I admit to "sneaking" 2 of them this afternoon outside on the back steps)
My liquor cabinet is sort of sparce,,,, there's some Gin, Vodka, CC and then there's those brown long necks for the younger folks,,, they tend to like the beer. I've got some of that "Goop Dip" over there in a crock pot,,, it really looks gross, but the guys seem to love it with their drinks. So dig right in,,, we'll have those ribs and steaks off the grill soon. (I guess in cyberland you can dig a pit to roast a hog and have it ready in 10 minutes, can't you?) The hog will be done shortly, too.

Time to open the bar. I just heard that it is Lodwick's birthday so the first round is on me. And Happy Birthday, Jim. (Not sure if it is today or tomorrow; if today, a late bump, if it's tomorrow, an early one).< p> JL:What is the Final Jeopardy category tonight?

Hey, my band's bigger than your band. Sooooo???? Mebbe even louder!
Mebbe! But at least MY band doesn't have 'El Dopo's' in it.
They're nice clean cut guys who'd be welcome at the Canteen.
I know Clar's not here, but this was one of his favorite bands. :^)
Who cares! LOL
To: coteblanche

Don't be mean. I care. Clarity was my friend. He liked that band. :^) Ok, I admit - yours IS a nicer-looking band, and probably plays better music. And prolly a whole lot easier to dance to!

I would love to have a bear of each of the military services. That way they can really protect me. giggle
Thank you so much. This is wonderful,You are so kind to show me these and the links.
Maybe some of the families of the troops would like them too, can't you just see a Marine opening a package from home with a little Marine bear in it and some candy.
