PRES. BUSH MUST HEAR FROM US, NOW! (America Must Not Abandon Israel!)
Capitol Hill Prayer Alert ^ | 10/25/01

Posted on 10/25/2001 7:17:34 PM PDT by truthandlife

And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan (Exodus 6:3-4).

Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel (Eze 11:17)

The Bush administration's shifting policy toward Israel, including support for a Palestinian State, should be of grave concern to every Bible-believing American. U.S. policy, which effectively opposes Israel's right to self-defense, is so thoroughly hypocritical, especially in light of the U.S. action in Afghanistan, that even Congressional Democrats who favor a Palestinian state are reacting to it. But far more important:

--God's covenant with the Jewish people regarding their inheritance of the land of Israel is one of the most frequently mentioned themes in Holy Scripture. God will keep His promises. American Christians must not stand idly by and allow our young-Christian President to be hoodwinked by advisors who do not know the Bible or the God of the Bible (see Gen 15:18; 17:8; 28:13-15; 35:1213; Dt 30:1-6; Jer 11:5; 30:3; 32:37-33:26; Eze 11:16-17; 20:41-44; 34:12-13; 36:22-24; 38:8; 39:25-28; 47:13-48:35; Amos 9:13-15; Zec 7:14; 8:1-8).

--God is watching. Although He lifted His Hand to allow the terrible attacks that have led to the present war, we believe His hand of protection has not been removed totally. But we also believe that if we abandon Israel, whether motivated by oil, military or political strategy or for our own nation's self preservation, it will be "the last straw" for America. God's hedge, upon which we depend, could be lifted from our beloved land altogether. God is Judge of all nations! (Ps 9:17; 82:1; Is 2:4a; Zec 2:7-13; 12:3; 14:3).

God warned Israel not to trust in horses or chariots but to trust in the Lord our God. America must do likewise and stand by Israel even if it means alienating many others. If we bend, in the long run, these nations will hate us still and we will have lost everything - including God's favor. Although the administration is vacillating and may appear to be shoring up its commitment to Israel, President Bush needs to hear from each of us. Please take time right away to write President Bush a letter from your own heart. A letter is better than a fax, a fax better than a phone call, a phone call better than an email. This simple act could be the most important of your life. (White House mail is being processed, albeit slowly, because of the anthrax attacks. But don't let this deter you from writing.)

Write: The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20500

Call or Fax: The White House Switchboard - 202-456-1414, Fax - 202-456-2461

Please Join us in Prevailing Prayer:

--Heavenly Father, SPEAK to our President! Cause men & women of God from across America & from around the world to make an EFFECTIVE APPEAL. May George Bush HEAR Your Voice, LEARN Your Word and DO Your Will. May the U.S. remain immovably loyal to Israel. In Jesus' Name. Amen (1 Kg 22:5, 13; 2 Kg 22:18-19; Es 4:14; Pr 21:1; Is 30:21; Mt 6:10; 1 Cor 15:58).

I am confused

No you're not. You know exactly what you're saying.

- are you implying Arabs are evil and are not worthy of entering Jerusalem?

I didn't say anything about the Arabs. I said, "you".

In addition, why is someone who disagrees with our support of Israel branded "evil"?

I said nothing about supporting Israel or not supporting Israel in this context.

Israel must come to terms with the fact that Jerusalem is not theirs and never should have been.

Wishful thinking on your part considering that Jerusalem is the capital city of Israel.

Muslims, Christians, and Jews should share these holy cities and not allow one religion to dominate or control these lands, despite what your God says.

When Muslims controlled the city, not one word was said by Christians or Muslims about sharing. It was only when the Jews took over that one heard the lofty ideals of sharing the city. Coincidence? Or the possibility that Jewish control of the Holy City was something that Christians and Muslims just couldn't stand? Is there another explanation?

Ask yourself this - What is fair and why is Israel so unwilling to share these sacred places?

Perhaps we should look to Christian and Muslim history before we answer that question. For example, what has been the historical treatment of the Jews by Christians? How about Muslims? If that was fair, then I'm all for applying those same standards of fairness towards Christian and Muslim holy sites. But, to be honest, we don't really need to look at history, do we? All we have to do is look at Joseph's tomb. Last year, it was a Jewish holy site. The Muslims overran it, burned the Jewish holy books and scrolls, and turned it into a mosque. The Christian world said absolutely nothing. Still want to talk about fairness?

He has a name. It is YHWH. They do not pronounce it because they do not wish to pronounce it wrong. When YHWH is found in the Hebrew Bible they pronounce it Adonai which means Lord. If you see LORD instead of Lord, it was originally YHWH. The G-d is a sign of respect.

Pro-Israel Fundamentalist "chr*stians" are not chr*stians in the classical sense of the word (they are far superior), because they derive their religion from an uninterpreted composite Jewish/chr*stain bible. They thus have a "split personality" by their very nature. Because the front part of their bible says the Jews are eternally chosen, they must believe that. Because the later part says all must except chr*st or be eternally damned, they must believe that too. The juxtaposition of these two beliefs is simply the natural result of an uninterpreted Jewish/chr*stian bible translated into a common tongue and treated as a single, seamless, organic whole.

Occasionally this problem causes dissonance and is addressed in various ways. One is to deny that modern Jews are Israelites at all and to instead say that chr*stendom is Israel (usually spiritually, but sometimes ethnically as well). An opposite and ultra-Fundamentalist solution is the "parallel but separate tracks theory" in which the salvation chr*st supposedly brought about by gentiles by being "born again" and by Jews by observing the Torah (and after all, the liturgical churches have always insisted that salvation has to be "appropriated," and to the Biblical Fundamentalist the Torah is a far superior means to do this than the rituals and holidays of post-Biblical chr*stendom).

Fundamentalism is greatly misunderstood. Most Jews--not just the liberals--seem to believe that Fundamentalist Zionism is a ruse to convert Jews. Nothing could be more far from the truth. It comes from the composite bible.

yet the Bible speaks of physical Israel being very much a focal point during the last days before Messiah returns to reign.

You keep saying that but would you please post some NT verses that support your theory.

Hmmm... so then would conversion to Judaism gain one this coverage of "the chosen"?

He is mistaken regarding "the chosen"

Does anyone know how many convert to Judaism?

Conversion to Judaism is discouraged by AUTHENTIC Judaism. Bogus religions claiming to be a "branch" of Judaism have different practices.

Is most of Judaism characterized by the same level of apostasy as most protestant denominations?

Nobody's perfect.

Where does Judaism stand on abortion?

Permissible only to save the life of the mother. Remember, I speak of AUTHENTIC Judaism, not other faiths claiming to be "branches".

No, you will abandon Israel to support what is evil and unjust. That is your history and, sadly, your destiny.

You can practice any religion you want, but I resent you labeling my country, the United States of America, as a nation of quitters. If it wasn't for the USA, Israel would never have been given nation status by the UN and most every Jew in the Middle East would have been killed by the Arabs long ago.

Stop being insulting. I grew with Jewish people, you're the first one I've ever heard speak so arrogantly of America. What's your problem?

Israel lost it's conditional promise to the land when they committed the awesome act of rejecting their Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. They said let His blood be on their heads. God accepted that and cut them off in A.D. 70. They are no longer God's chosen people and have no more right to the land than you are I do.

Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them. Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth; Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.

Your doctrine of men does not conform to the Word of God.

The following words of New Horizon are the perfect illustration of the "parallel but equal tracks" solution to the composite bible problem.

We gentiles must believe that Jesus Christ is our savior to obtain the Kingdom of Heaven.

Jews are God's chosen people...they're "covered" regardless.

While I am a believer in Yahweh and His beloved son, Yahshua Messiah, prayer is not going to change anything as it is written that all this will come to pass.

Goodness sake, Pres. Bush just signed a proclamation praising the u.n.. We can't serve two masters. We may be experiencing the commencement of the seven year tribulation as mentioned in Revelation.

P.S. I am also a staunch supporter of Israel. As for me, I am at peace with Christ.

Where did I say "America"?

No question about the UN. However, in hindsight I'm not so sure that was a good thing. As to every Jew in the ME being killed by the Arabs, I respectfully disagree.

Stop being insulting. I grew with Jewish people, you're the first one I've ever heard speak so arrogantly of America. What's your problem?

Perhaps the problem is your misinterpretation. Again, where did I say "America" in the statement which offended you so much?

Yes, s.g., but you see you're talking "that ol' time religion." Most of the New-Age Philosophies of Man Mingled with Scripture that infest FR haven't the slightest notion what you're talking about.

Their ministers long ago fabricated this newfangled "doctrine" so Israeli tourism would abet and promote their "pilgrimages" (for which they charge BIG bucks to act as "shepherds") leading well-healed pious wannabes who think that they can buy their way to heaven by sleeping in one-star hotels and eating off the Continental plan.

Please get some perspective here. Whenever a phase-shift of this magnitude occurs, follow the money.

Tell us the one about how C. I. Scofield was "in on it" and how his holding a federal job in Kansas after fighting for the Confederacy "proves" it.

Why just the New Testament? Are you like Marcion and think the OT is to be tossed out? But to satisfy your question, lets try for example Romans 11. It is clear this is NOT speaking of just spiritual Israel, but God's chosen seed of Abraham of the tribes of Israel.

See Also Hebrews 8, also talking about the Israel of the Old Testament as it speaks of them being taking out of the land of Egypt. Both scriptures are below. Finally, check Revelation 7 which SPECIFICALLY speaks of individuals sealed by God out of the 12 tribes of Israel. God's plan has not changed. God's grace has not abated. God still has plans for Israel and we can either be there and be blessed or go against God and be cursed.

Romans 11
1
I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2
God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,
3
Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
4
But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
5
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
6
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
7
What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.
8
(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
9
And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:
10
Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
11
I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12
Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
13
For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
14
If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
15
For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
16
For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
17
And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
18
Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19
Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
20
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21
For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23
And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graff them in again.
24
For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
25
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26
And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27
For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28
As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.
29
For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
30
For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
31
Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
32
For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
33
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
34
For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
35
Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
36
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Hebrews 8
1
Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2
A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
3
For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
4
For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
5
Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
6
But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
7
For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
8
For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11
And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
13
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Revelation 7
1
And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
2
And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
3
Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
4
And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
5
Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
6
Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
7
Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
8
Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
9
After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10
And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11
And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12
Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
13
And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14
And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15
Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
16
They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

G-d bless you, but if you have been in the conservative movement for any length of time (and I was a John Bircher from 1977 to 1981) you have learned that there is a very peculiar sort of "rightwinger" who hates Jews and Israel, and who crosses the street to support the Arab friends of all the people they hate (Castro, Sandinistas, Soviets, etc.). This is because they blame the Jews for Communism and believe that supporting Communists who kill Jews is a consistent and logical anti-Communist position.

Another thing you will learn is that these people ignore Fundamentalist Protestants and pretends that all support of Israel originates with Jewish liberals and ex-Trotskyite neo-conservatives. You will be ignored. All your enemies will do is bleat about "neocons."

There was once an anti-Israel paleo on this form who was actually so honest as to admit to me in FReeper e-mails (never publicly on the Board) that he knew people like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson existed. So far he seems to be the only one. The game is "when faced with Biblical Fundamentalism, cover you ears, close your eyes, and scream 'ADL!'"

Again, G-d bless you. I am afraid the Right is not what I used to believe it was. And I am most sincerely sorry.

Don't play dumb.

The subtitle to the article is "America Must Not Abandon Israel!

The context of your comment to Toilet Duck was:

No, you will abandon Israel to support what is evil and unjust. That is your history and, sadly, your destiny.

When you say "That is your history..., you don't mean Toilet Duck's history. Do you? Again, don't play dumb. You meant America and it was loud and clear!

BTW, I'm not offended by your poor choice of words, I'm annoyed by your references to America and I object to them being a factual part of the thinking of the vast majority of Jews in the world.

I happen to greatly respect the Jewish people. Your remarks do them an injustice.

Pres Bush's sole concern in this matter should be the welfare of the USA. He is the president of our nation, period. He can not, and should not, base his decisions about the lives of Americans on subjective interpretations of ancient religious documents.

Then repeal all laws against theft and murder.

I have always, since my first socio-political-religious awareness, been a supporter of Israel. It is as though it comes instinctively (though I am sure it was planted in the beginnings of my study of the Bible). I have often stood up against those who speak out against Israel, again almost as though it were my nature.

I am, however, searching for the true meaning of the earthly life of Chr-st, the interplays in heaven both in the infinite past, the sometimes foreboding present, and a future that seems at times as much destiny rather than deterministic. I pray to G-d in Jes-s' name and I teach my sons to pray. I try not to sin and I teach my sons the same. It is rarely easy.

I repent and turn to G-d. I would like to see our country do the same. On September 11, I watched in horror as more than 5,000 of my fellow citizens died a horrific death. I was already deeply horrified that our nation allows that many innocent lives taken by abortionists every day. There is a multitude of similar, unspeakable sin facilitated and tolerated by this country that needs to be eliminated. The United Stated must repent and turn to G-d.

Sorry, you are mistaken. Toilet Duck belongs to a class of people whose attitudes are plain. I was not referring to America.

BTW, I'm not offended by your poor choice of words, I'm annoyed by your references to America and I object to them being a factual part of the thinking of the vast majority of Jews in the world.

As I explained, you have made a mistake. If I am reading you correctly, you are assigning that mistake to the thinking of the vast majority of Jews in the world. Is that right?

I happen to greatly respect the Jewish people. Your remarks do them an injustice.

I am sorry you misinterpreted my words, and I am also sorry you felt compelled to respond in anger rather than ask for clarification.

I hope this explanation satisfies you.
