If you have a baby on the way, bought a new car or house, found out your kid aced his SAT, are having a good harvest, caught an excellent fish, or have some other happy news please post it. I am so depressed and sad for my country, and I don't know ANYONE in person who has had anything nice happen in the last month. Not one person.

Daughter in Denver emailed me a beautiful birthday card and it's not my birthday until next week.

That's suspicious mail. Any powder on your monitor? :)

Looks like I'll be able to retire in two years after all (At age 53) and we will close on our 40 acres for the horse farm on Monday. The wife has already designed the barn. I'm working on the house plans.

I can still make my husband weak in the knees when I wear my tight t-shirts.

A week or so ago, my husband told me he likes it when I wear jeans. He also tells me what great legs I have. Feeling sexy at 53 is truly a gift!

ChemistCat, IT'S FRIDAY! What else do we need to cheer us up???????

I became a first time grandpa on September 30th. The little grandson has ten toes. I was successful on my antelope hunt in Lusk, WY last weekend. Chasing antelope with one leg is quite a challenge. But they could not outrun my old Ruger Model 17.

Why is it that the only terrorised folks seem to work for the government?

Fivetoes

Have a nice day unless you have made other plans

I'm Emperor of The Known Universe.

Yeah, but I'm your spice dealer, and the price of a dime bag is now a quarter. :)

The Safeco Field is a HUGE improvement over the old Kingdome. Even though I moved to Texas a couple years ago, I can't stop cheering for the Mariners.

I've heard of patients like that. They drive their heart doctors to an early grave. :)

Actually, that's not it at all! My dad decided: the aspirin is a miracle drug. He got off a lot of these other drugs, and just stuck with the aspirin. And, he did that way before the rest of the medical community agreed with his first doctor about the benefit of aspirins.

The doctors who died did not do enough preventive health care for themselves, in my dad's layman opinion.

Our next door neighbors became grandparents for the first time on Wednesday! The parents had been told that the baby would have a birth defect from the sonogram...but he is PERFECT ! Praise the Lord!

My dad says he's never been depressed a day in his life and can't understand it; you're probably like him, and don't know how lucky you are!

Good for your Dad! My kinda guy. ;-)

Loved the comment about Oprah. I was being sarcastic. ;-)

Anyway....I did have a 'bout with the "blues" (not depression - a least not clinical depression about 20 years ago) after a life changing event. Eventually realized that I was surrounded by friends/family who loved me very much. And that life ain't s'posed to be easy, that'd be boring as hell. Life is a challenge. Rise to it, man. Rise to it. Good luck with the N'surgeon. Hope all is well....

That's good to hear, although another thread on logging and it's ins and outs would be a welcome distraction.

Good news? Better than decent grades going into the middle of the semester, new friends in a new city, and I just transfered membership from my old Church in Tucson to the one my family has been attending here in Tallahassee. Certainly not a bad month, but I'm holding out for December to be a month for the record books.
