If you have a baby on the way, bought a new car or house, found out your kid aced his SAT, are having a good harvest, caught an excellent fish, or have some other happy news please post it. I am so depressed and sad for my country, and I don't know ANYONE in person who has had anything nice happen in the last month. Not one person.

Local 9th grade football team won last week's game 65-63 in triple OT. Really.

My 13 year-old son just changed his mind(probably won't the last time) from want to go to Law School to either West Point or TAMU and majoring in Military History. IMHO, anything is better than being a lawyer even being an aggie is better.

Can you put a new picture up? 2 week olds are even prettier than newborns. Tell your lady she did well (but she knows that.)

Thanks, everybody.

Um, was just given a PILE of quite valuable (well, they sure oughta be.........and already are looking that way) stock options by/in my VERY large employer, unheard of this time of year and absolutely unheard of as a relatively new employee. Totally out-of-the-blue. Kinda cool. :) We gotta celebrate the little victories in life as we lament the tragedies around us.

Obubba Been Laiden is no longer President.

Roddham Inseinn's political aspirations for '04 went up in smoke on the nigh of The Speech.

We have respectable people in the White House.

I'm Emperor of The Known Universe.

Dinner here is vegetarian lasagna and cream of chestnut soup; everything except the noodle makings and milk products were produced right here at our house. Smells wonderful and gives hope.

My first grandchild.. a precious little boy was born on Sept. 15th. Oh, how my daughter worried that he would be born on the 11th. For one, she was to deliver in Boston and they were evacuating most of the city.Having him in our lives the past few weeks has made this horrific attack easier to bear. I do worry about his future, though but our entire family is thankful that GWB is our leader.

My ten-year old got the part she wanted in the class play.
My son got a free ticket and ride to the Georgia Tech game last night.
My husband found out that Microsoft is grandfathering his MCSE.
That's good enough for me!

I'm happily married for 19 years, have a boy and a girl who are healthy, and FreeRepublic is online and I have internet connectivity. That's all I can say about that.

I am so depressed and sad for my country..

I hear Oprah can solve all your problems. As for me, I just picked up my Dad's Colt .38....and a new Linksys 8-port router to replace my 4-port.

Life is grand...

About a month ago a baby squirrel fell out one of our big fir trees. He wasn't hurt, just stunned. He had an abcess on his face though. His mom wouldn't take him back.

So we fed him through a dropper and took him to a wildlife refuge. We just got him back. He's healthy and his squirrel family that has two nests in our trees have welcomed him back into the family.

Batman, Robin and Casper rob auto parts store

Friday, October 12, 2001
SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER NEWS SERVICES

Robbers dressed as Batman, Robin and Casper the Friendly Ghost robbed an auto parts shop early yesterday morning, the Spokane County Sheriff's office said.

The costumed criminals were among four or five robbers who stole tools, computers, stereo equipment and a Pontiac Firebird from Market Street Rods, the sheriff's office said.

The robbers loaded their booty into a trailer that also contained the car and drove away. However, the trailer and all its contents were recovered a short time later by deputies.
