mistakenly tried to open an exit window to get air circulating

Who is the FBI trying to fool. Is that is the best they can come up with!

Any thread about Anthrax or plane incidences are being hammered by our "no-fear" freepers. IMHO, there have been too many "false-alarms" for there to be nothing behind them. Maybe they're trying to get us to the point where we don't worry anymore, so they can begin the real attacks.

I didn't post about the plane being forced down in Louisiana, simply because I didn't want to see all the smart-aleck replies. If many others start feeling the same way I do, we won't get much news here.

Laughter is good, but so is being alert. Sorry for the rant. Thanks for the post.

They were from Saudi Arabia & "novices" to air travel?

How the f#*k did they get here then? Send them back immediately! Most of the terrorists were here on Saudi passports.

In an unrelated incident, an Australian man was arrested in Chicago on Tuesday after he allegedly became drunk on a flight from Los Angeles and had to be restrained by several passengers after assaulting a flight attendant, the FBI said. He was identified as Kevin Houghton, 31, of Melbourne, Australia. That incident occurred on the same Los Angeles to Chicago flight on which a day earlier an apparently deranged man tried to rush the cockpit.

Note to everyone:
The crew on this flight will not be standing for any sort of nonsense any more. If you get rowdy, expect to be struck about the head with a blunt instrument. If I am present, I will help (the crew that is).

Well, at least now we know why the Saudis don't have any submarines.

You insensitive Americans!

Instead of laughing at these fine men, a helping hand could have been offered. The aircraft should have been taken to a modest altitude and the men politely informed that the window opens only from the outside.

Let's think before we further jeopardize relations with the Arab world.

Notice that it is the "passengers" who are being the "sky marshalls" on our planes?

Annoyerism. The copycat pranks are very effective for drawing resources away from where they would be most needed.

Just in. KGUN TV Tucson has taken over a major hospital ER with a letter scare. Stupid.

Could be payback hoax for that newsroom's acting as the official shill for the local Islamists. As of yesterday, the local Imam still believes someone other than Bin Laden responsible for Sept. 11 atrocities. It's not what is said as how much time is devoted to this kumbaya fantasy about Islam in America. USA Today named Tucson one five major centers for sleeper activity going back several years. Too bad the FBI never told local law enforcement.

Back before 9/11, this was called stupidity. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

(I know - sometimes it something else entirely, but that's disgusting and we're still trying to pretend that we never learned about that.)

Two brothers were escorting their ill father to St. Louis for a liver transplant and had just boarded United Flight 729, a Boeing 727, at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport when one of the brothers attempted to open an exit window over a wing.

There's no reason we should be exporting American livers to rich Arabs. The demand for livers is so high in this country, that if anything we should be importing livers. I suggest we harvest them in Afghanistan, preferably from live Talabin or Al Quaeda personnel. Without anethesia mind you.

"They didn't understand English, didn't read English."

OK - Then riddle me this: WHAT THE @#$% WERE THEY DOING IN THE EXIT ROW?

Non-English speakers were sitting in the exit row and expected to help the other passengers get out of the plane in an emergency, despite the fact that they would have no idea what was going on??? WTF is up with that?

AND THEN THERE'S THE BIGGER QUESTION: Why would you, when your country is under attack by Arabic suicide bombers, put a bunch of Saudis in the damned exit row. Call it profiling if you want, but they're lucky they get to get on the damned plane in the first place. I'm pretty certain that if Americans were wandering around the middle east using airliners as instruments of mass murder, we wouldn't be getting on any planes.

I'm thinking they ought to be separated, and each have a non-exit row window seat, with the biggest guys on the plane between them and the aisle. And they ought to avoid liquids and visit the little potential terrorists room before they get on the plane, because they aren't leaving their seat for the duration.

They were Saudi Arabians who spoke no English...

I've never seen a Saudi Arabian who had enough money to buy a plane ticket who could not speak English.
