I am a 27 year old female FReeper. Back in high school, I was a punk rocker, so anarcho-libertarianism ruled the day. Oddly, that was my political beginning. Back then, punks claimed to be apolitical, but for the most part they were highly conservative, or libertarian, hence folk like Jello Biafra. By the way, no one hated hippies more than the punks, and we believed that public education went hand in hand with government propagandaThis sounds a lot like me in high school. Well, except for the female part.

My journey to the hard right came in four major areas from 1993-1994:
1. Rush Limbaugh.
2. The firefight in Mogadishu, particularly after I learned that Les Aspin denied the armor that had been requested by the on-scene commander.
3. The gun issue.
4. Clinton's tax increase.
By the way, I'd like to find any single female Freepers from 18-30 in the DC area. ;)

I'm a 25 year old (26 next month) female in St. Paul, MN. I grew up in a Conservative family, but never really thought much about politics until I listened to Rush. He really got me interested in it and I started to form opinions on my own.
My brother (sheltonmac) and my father (sola gracia) told me about Free Republic a few months back and I've been hooked ever since!
To: Dawntreader
Hooked indeed, I know how that can get. I have NEVER found anything so addicting (except Las Vegas).
Welcome to FR! Glad to meet another young conservative!

this thread and the number one thread (which is locked now for posting to it; but very interesting reading, with 250 posts or so to it) both are great reading. I am pleased to know about so many young dedicated conservatives.
It deserves viewing and possibly some new additions.
To: StoneColdGOP

To: Fred Mertz

I'm 29. I was a conservative as a kid. I was pretty much a libertarian from 18-25, but would now pretty much consider myself to be a conservative again.
To: StoneColdGOP
Hey Sinatra man!
Count me in at 27 and holding.

Did StoneColdGOP get banned or somthing?
To: StoneColdGOP
I'm 21, grew up with my father and mother, who worked for Goldwater, in good Republican country. Of course, since then I've had the misfortune of attending UC Berkeley and living in Barbara Lee's district, and now live in the equally obnoxious Henry Waxman's. Oh well.
