WASHINGTON, Oct 3 (Reuters) - The crash of a Greyhound bus in Tennessee on Wednesday appears to have been a "random" event unrelated to last month's terror attacks on the United States, the Transportation Department said.
The department believes "it was a random incident not related to the September 11 terrorist attacks," said Dave Longo, a spokesperson for the Federal Motorcarrier Administration, a division of the Transportation Department.
But he said there were conflicting reports "and we are waiting for more details to come in from the field."
Greyhound Lines suspended bus services across the United States after at least three people were killed in a crash that television reports attributed to a passenger attack on the bus driver.

Grandma was *supposed* to take a Greyhound bus home next Tuesday morning. Now I'm driving her home.
She lives in Buffalo, I live outside of Chicago. Gonna be a long drive back and forth, but at least I know she'll get there safely.

IMHO I think this
IS RELATED to September 11th, and the
FBI is keeping this LOW KEY to avoid national panic.Vigilance is the word of the day.
Believe your eyes and ears and keep the heat handy!

The FBI would have police powers here anyhow. Greyhound bus = interstate transport.

If another terrorist controlled plane fell from 30000 ft and slammed into downtown new york, do you think that (with the state of air travel being what it is), we would be told the truth? Or would we be told that the plane had control problems beyond the pilots ability to prevent the "accident" and we should keep buying tickets.
Another such act would completely would destroy air travel.
Would the gov be completely honest with the public?
Are they being honest now?

He kept asking, "what time is it" to the bus driver, I heard this morning on FOX. The first 911 call came in at 4:13 a.m. Any FReepers out there who could make a time connection to anything?

Believe your eyes and ears and keep the heat handy!Wouldn't I love to, but I have to cross state lines every day to go to work, and somehow, I lose my second amendment rights when I do so. My building is an idiotic "gun free" state building anyway. Damn those liberal pukes!

Croatians come here all the time to slit our bus drivers' throats.
It was just a random event.
Nothing to see here.... Let's move on.

"Isn't this an OVER-REACTION -- for a single-bus-event, somewhere in the country. I can't imagine Greyhound Bus Lines suspending all bus service across the country -- because of something like this."
They want a piece of the billion dollar bailout the airlines are getting. Good business posture.

Isn't this an OVER-REACTION -- for a single-bus-event, somewhere in the country. I can't imagine Greyhound Bus Lines suspending all bus service across the country -- because of something like this. Yes, I think it is a BIG overreaction. Maybe Greyhound is lookin' for a federal bailout, I don't know. Stopping nationwide service is stupid. It'll cost them money, could cause a panic, and inconveniences a LOT of people. Bad move, Greyhound.

I don't consider myself under any obligation to obey immoral laws.

On Monday, ABC News was reporting there was a plot to take down Sears Tower in Chicago by a terrorist cell. Officials have denied that story saying ABC got it wrong. Thoughts?

The driver is reported alive.

Asks to sit near front.
Sits down.
Asks bus driver for time.
Sits down.
Asks bus driver for time again.

Slits bus driver's throat.
Do you think there might be even the remotest possibility that the man intended to act at a particular time?
A time when others were also supposed to act?
If this is even a remote possibility... then the stop order was justified.

ABC News network just stated that authorities are confirming that the attacker had a Croatian I.D. Just thought you'd want to know that another source has backed up the story.
To: Pericles
That'd be my guess.
