Bill Clinton went to the NBA Store at 52nd St. and Fifth Ave. Friday, then on to Rockefeller Plaza. "He was doing what he hopes all America will do," says a source close to the former president. "Shop."

He also hasn't forgotten about eating. We hear that, when he visited Ground Zero last week, Clinton grabbed one of the sandwiches that restaurateur David Bouley delivered.

It's bad enough living in New York through this nightmare, but having the Clintons hogging the spotlight is too much. How shameless can one be to take food meant for rescue workers? I won't say that X42 has reached a new low, as he always manages to find a way to do something more outrageous, but this is pretty bad.

This story gets me so angry. You have firefighters and policemen and EMTs working literally around the clock to find their fallen brothers. Restauranteurs around here have donated time, money, and food to help these rescuers, since these guys can't exactly go run out of Ground Zero for a snack. And then you have Bill Clinton taking their food! What's next -- is he going to hang out by a Red Cross truck to scarf up orange juice and donuts?

I don't think there were any reports of missing watches from shops and attempts to break in ATM's in the WTC ruins untill after the Clintons photo op visits.

And did you notice when the Orthodox Greek Priest asked everyone to join hands in prayer, Clinton's left hand was on his knee?..........Maybe the African American sitting to his left refused to hold his dirty hand...Or maybe that was Clinton's way of 'breaking the chain' of prayer.
