It would be a disaster for the U.S. if he surrenders. We'd be under constant attack from Islamic extremist trying to free him. Unless we turned him, and he gave up everyone in his network. Otherwise, his legend would live on in the mind of his followers.

I would think Allah would be pleased with his sacrifice if he turned himself in. He would surely advance his cause by becoming a martyr at the hands of the great white satan. This coward could really strike a blow by giving himself up.

I'm sure you noticed the targets selected by the terrorists, they were symbols. If the White House had taken a hit they would have accomplished their full goal of hitting the primary symbols of American Governance, Finance, and military might. In the same way, bin Laden is a symbol for us. The idea of a vague shadowy terrorist network as your enemy is hard to grasp.....there's nobody to aim at. Omar bin Laden fills that need. I'm sure Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Powell understand the depth of the terrorist organizations and will do the right thing. Omar bin Laden's death will be a great symbolic victory for the US and a defeat for his followers, after which we will exterminate his fellow sand fleas. Let's help him on his way to that virgin-filled paradise.

In regards to the subject of this thread: It will never happen! bin Laden wants a holy war and will gladly reveal all nations that have contributed to his organization in order to start one. Anybody think the Pakistanis would simply hand over bin Laden to us when they risk bin Laden telling the US how they assisted him in killing our citizens? Believe me, if the Paki's don't kill him first, the Syrians, Saudis, Iraqis, or someone, WILL kill him before we can get to him.

How could you be sure we got the real Osama (Dead Man Walking) Bin Liden - and not some cheap, K-Mart Blue Light special double? Oh sure, some people might say that we could run extensive DNA testing: say - around 180 lbs of testing - to make extra sure we got things right. But I say nay, who could be really sure we had the right information to test against? - then we'd just have to keep testing more and more Bin Ladin look-a-likes.

Seriously though, someone who convinces his followers that its a righteous thing to suicide bomb innocent, unarmed, civilians - while he scores a big return on short sells of insurance stocks - hardly strikes me as a brave leader who's willing to die for the cause.
