Any Freeper Espousing Racial/Ethnic/Religious Hatred is Hurting the War Effort

Freepers or anyone else who engage in bigoted attacks agains Arab Americans or innocent Muslims in this country are engaging in seditious conduct. By stirring up internal division and animosity they are helping the enemy.

Some of us need to grow up, some need to shut up, and more need to speak up.

Any Freeper Espousing Racial/Ethnic/Religious Hatred is Hurting the War Effort.

So quit posting your daily dose of anti-Jewish junk. That I guess is why you bumped me. So I could remind you.

In this case, once an act of war has been committed by an identified party, you are not innocent until proven guilty. You are suspect from the get go and should be scrutinized. Are you here legally? Do you support terrorist activities? After a through investigation it can be decided if you should be deported, stand trial or stay as an American citizen.

"Muslims should not be in our midst at this point in time". Internment camps for muslims? Someone is suggesting internment camps for all muslims on FR?

Is it OK with you if we just hassle those that are illegal, are carrying false documents, have carton cutters and other weapons on them and pilots licenses?

And are you suggesting we stop only Dutch, Orientals and Swedes to try to find them?

We are not at war with the majority of Muslims in the world. Please stop trying to whip up a Holy war with the Good Christians vs the EVIL Muslims. This isn't the time to be a religious opportunist.

Where in my post am I trying to whip up anything? I am not a religious opportunist...I don't even go to church. But the reality is that we are now at war. We have to be careful around every muslim. We don't know which ones are bad. We have to assume all are. It's just like buckling your seatbelt. You never know when you're going to crash, so you wear your belt all the time so you're prepared. By all accounts, some of the terrorists from the other day lived among us and seemed likeable. No one knew their murderous intentions. The muslim you or some other American befriends might be the one planning the next terrorist attack. They'll get no aid and comfort from me.

Let's hope it doesn't take 4 years to end this one!

Not a problem.

In our politically correct country, it may take that long to start it!

HUH....my apologetics for FDR's concentrations camps????"

Y'know it might just be time for a break for everyone. Reality is just too tough. FACTS are FACTS. We HAD internment camps. THEY WERE NOT RIGHT. BUT, they happened. (by the way, I wasn't alive then, so you can't blame me.) SO ALL KNOW....I am NOT suggesting internment camps, but it seems some here want to make that jump....count me out....

By Muslim do you mean Middle Eastern? Not all Muslims are Middle Eastern and not all Middle Easterners are Muslim. A turban does not equal a terrorist.

No where in my post do the words "turban" or Middle Eastern" appear. Muslim is a religious definition. Middle Eastern is a geographical definition.

Excellent! We can identify our enemy outside our boarders and we can identify them inside our boarders.

He has spoken out against the attacks.

Seriously, good for him! But there needs to be more - a clear, strong message from the moslem power structure. If they can pronounce a death sentence on a novelist, they can do so on Oscuma bint Larden. The fact that they don't - that only isolated individuals do - is suggestive.

I have noticed this disturbing trend on Free Republic. The anger we should have towards terrorists is being directed inward towards other Americans.

BUMP!

If you like, I could have my co-worker drop you a line. He's Muslim. 4th generation American, from Ohio. He's not Middle Eastern. He has spoken out against the attacks.

Don't tell me - He's got the blueist eyes you've ever seen. Sheesh! If I hear anymore about this guy I think I'll puke. Everyone knows that there are black, brown , and white muslims! Its not about the color of their skin - its about where their loyalties lie!

seditious

I want you to go to Black's Law Dictionary, look up this term, and copy and paste the CORRECT definition here. What you are calling "sedition" is not sedition. This is not a term to just throw around.

Zook is one of those finger pointers that use the race card to make people cower. Screw you Zook!

Anyone who introduces the word "racist" is immediately suspect.

A disruptor?

I agree with your statement.

This is a war against terrorism, not against Islam.

Anyone who fans the flames of racial or religious bigotry and hatred at this time is acting as a Tool of Osama bin Laden, and hurting the war effort.

Here is what Vice President Cheney said on the matter this morning -

MR. RUSSERT: Mr. Vice President, how difficult and delicate is it to send this message that we’re going to uproot terrorism and Osama bin Laden and some other cells, but that this is not a war against Islam and not a war against all Arab people?

VICE PRES. CHENEY: We have to continually remind folks of that. The president has been very clear, and it would be a huge mistake for we as Americans to assume that this represents some kind of — or should lead us to some kind of condemnation of Islam. It’s clearly not the case. This is a perversion, if you will, of some of these religious beliefs by an extremist group. We have extremists associated with, you know, every imaginable religion in the world. But this is by no means a war against Islam. We’ve got a great many Arab Americans, for example, who are first class, loyal American citizens. We need to make certain that we don’t make the mistake of assuming that everybody who comes from a certain ethnic group or certain religious background is somehow to be blamed for this. Clearly, that’s not the case. They are as appalled by it as we are.

This is no time to be second-guessing our Commander-in-Chief and the Vice President. You are with us - or against us.
