That is something major that is usually missing from disaster preparedness. The fact that you can not do it on your own. You need to be in partnership with at least three or four other families. And one person (at least) should have medical training and one person should be knowledgeable about construction issues.

Zip Lock bags, especially the stronger freezer bags, make a great emergency water container. You can fill them and stack them anywhere like sand bags. When you want to use it, just snip off a corner and you have a spout, or open the zipper if you want to reuse them.

I can only guess your thoughts. Takes me back to late seventies madness in the Worldwide Church of God when I was but a mere lass. More recently the Y2K crapola.
The sky is always falling. Gee, did anyone ever think to pray when times get tough, as opposed to storing giant amounts of food and water and scaring kids to death?

The sky is always falling. We're doomed. Doomed I tell you. We're all going to die! (eventually)
I can see the wisdom in storing food. But I see more wisdom in trusting God.

We have just come across your 2001 information on 72 hour packs and food storage. As a family of 6 it seemed such a daunting task to start to gather the much needed essentials.
Thankyou for the best way I’ve seen to get there!!
We live in England and have had so much rain ( even for us!!!) that some parts of our country looked a lot like New Orleans sadly did not too many months ago. It has brought home to us that as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, we should do as the Profit says and be prepared for the trials of life.
Thankyou for your help in this and good luck for all of your endeavors.

Good list. I’ve been mulling over preparedness a lot lately. Will you please add me to the ping list?
We might really have to do this if things continue the way they are.
Don’t forget to stock up on ammo too!
