KISS THE NOTION OF SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE GOODBYE!!!
FR | 09/15/01 | ServesURight

The United States of America is a Christian nation again.

The Terrorist attacks have renewed America's faith in God. There will be no more ACLU/People for the American Way lawyers screaming about politicians and government officials openly praying anymore.

There will no more lawsuits against city officials and residents who display religious symbols during Christmas. No more outrage against high-school teams praying before games, no more Supreme Court decisions.

The atheists at the ACLU were probably defecating in their pants at the site of Congress and President attending the National Cathedral, and at the site of millions of Americans holding candlelight vigils and prayer groups across the country.

I dare the Left to make "seperation of church and state" an issue now.

Hi friend. You know I'm no proponent of enforced thought, whether religious or not. Just sick of the insipid whiners throwing out the baby with the bath water, which is, as you know, how we got ourselves into this fix. To them, the opposite of enforced values are NO values. And a valueless culture is a dying culture, which is precisely what our idological enemies, both Marxist and otherwise, have foisted on us by degrading and undermining our core values. You remember Original Sin. That's what it was all about.

So although I don't pretend to support the foisting of anything on anyone, I insist that without our core values, we perish. And from this point on, any of us may, at any time.

I did see one particularly funny bumper sticker the other day though, that even for an athiest pretty much sums it up: "If you're going to live like there's no God, you better hope you're right".

Before the athiest got their way. I, at one time prayed in school with my classmates every day before class started, we also pledged alligence to the flag of the United States of America. When they stopped allowing us to pray together we then had the free love and drug movement, the Roe v Wade decision, the increased violence, etc... When we prayed together we cared more for each other. We didn't bully or shoot our classmates. Our nation has been decieved, I know it, and alot of others know it.

What part of freedom, liberty, and free will is a problem for you?

I made no assumption about that. My statement was as value neutral as your statement. Some here believe that what they do in the name of the state is bound by different rules than what they do as individuals.

many of the Founding Fathers were DEISTS, not Christian

Incorrect. So many people repeat this urban myth. Only one or two were deists.

Should I list all the countries around the world where Christians are being persecuted by Muslims or can you read the news yourself?

Why don't you list 'em for me. I'm busy painting my house today. And throw in the Gypsies, the Bahai, and the Mormons, while you're at it.

Wouldn't it be cool if you could challenge people at the voting booth to cite a passage from the Bible and if they couldn't you could say "You're excused"?

Don't worry about having it forced on ya, bud. Because no sensible person would suggest that, at least IMHO. Anyway, that's NOT going to happen. But neither would I throw out my own little baby just because I don't like the bath water.

Respectfully, whatever your opinions on the matter are, I'd get busy trying to figure out if YOU really are "excused", in the most conventional sense. It's voluntary.

While I agree that Falwell's comments were ill-timed and incorrect (I don't believe these attacks were of God or from God), this has nothing to do with the seperation between church and state. As a free citizen Falwell has the right to make idiotic comments, just as you do (and have).

I am for the total separation of state and religion--especially false religion-ideaology of liberals, marxists, and evolution--vododoo(crap-bs) science...stuffing this hate--lies down schoolchildrens throats---brainwashing--hate.

Yeah its like the aids virus---nobody sees it---the tests come out positive--all the brains--souls rot out---but it isn't a religion--it doesn't exist but te results and causes are the same!

There is a long and bloody history of religious oppression that supports a clear separation of Church and State.

Fine, show me where it says so in the Constitution -- the Supreme Law of the Land.

The Declaration of Independence specifically states that "We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator (God) with certqain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness".

The basis of America's Freedom is the acknowledgement of the authority of God.

If we destroy our acknowledgement of God we destroy the basis of our freedom and our rights.

It is time we again turn our face as a nation back to God. Our Nation is the only country in the history of the world to be founded upon Judeo-Christian principles. And yet as Christians we have allowed God to be driven out of the life of this country. We have been under judgement for a long time...........

Pray that our nation will ask forgiveness of God for failing to uphold this acknowledgement of Him and how He raised this great nation up before the world as the shining beacon on a hill.

God Bless America!

God Bless Freepers!

My freedom to pray with my classmates was taken away from me, do you understand that? Maybe you are too young to have ever enjoyed that freedom, but I was blessed to have had that freedom and now its gone.

My freedom to pray as my conscious dictates was REMOVED by government agents who compeled me to recite specific prayers of their OWN choosing. Your perceived freedom was infringing upon MY freedom.

Thank you, but I'm still looking for the wording in the Constitution that calls for the "separation of church and state." Could you direct me to that passage?

Once you allow one religion to become involved in the affairs of government, you have violated the 1st amendment.

And vicey versa? What if the government becomes involved in the affairs of the church? Is that a violation of the 1st amendment? Or does freedom only run the way you want it to?

I'd pick Proverbs Chapter 5 myself. Or maybe Chapter 6. The part about "enjoy your wife's breasts."

I'm not going to quote anything from religious cannons to make a point. Because this really isn't about just how much you or I might love or be deeply offended at those who worship in any way they choose.

But if I were forced to, I'd point you to the commandment prohibiting lying. As in you would expect me NOT to lie to you in a business deal, just to put the deal at my advantage, and at your sincere, trusted expense. And as in we both ought to be able to expect our elected representatives to be truthful with us because they share the same honor toward honesty. Because if not, neither would efficient business transactions be possible, nor would we be anything less than pawns in the hands of an elite set of very clever liars we might call leaders. These are tried and true core values that come from blood shed and viscerally earned respect.

What pisses me off, is when those who find offense in one aspect of the bath, aid our enemies in casting away not only the entire water, but the baby we hold so dear.

So if people want to pray, let em. If government officials should have an honest, tearful moment of conscience for the first time in their entire, lying, cheating careers, even if it was in a church representing the religion of our forfathers, let em. And if you don't want to be a part of it, just don't get yourself involved.
