DO NOT POST ANY MILITARY INFORMATION YOU HAVE
It is imperative during this time period that no one and I mean no one post any information they have about our military except to report on the crash of the plane at the Pentagon. There have been several postings tonight giving information about bases near where they live -- please do not discuss your local bases on the open forum. Use freeper mail to people you know.
Our men and women of the Armed Forces will most likely be put in harm's way soon enough without our telling people what is going on in our areas. Please think before you post. Whether a strike is in the near future or six months away, keep your mouths shut about military activities in your area that are not already in the press.
Thank you much!
God Bless our military, our President, and the United States of America!

BUMP.......message received and acting upon. The posters are memories from my childhood. Very wise advice.

Jim. Why not make your "Loose lips sink ships" warning on the posting page, a hotlink to this thread?
To: M Kehoe
On the same topic, if somebody does glean info, what was the FBI website they have open to report any info?

I ALMOST couldn't believe it yesterday when some, uh, "person who hadn't thought about it" posted a thread ASKING for this kind of information.
All who post on other forums, chat rooms, etc, take the word there too: KEEP YOUR LIP ZIPPED!
Our military people have enough of a problem with irresponsible, careless, self-absorbed media people trying to get a story without US adding to their problems.

Practical Bump.

The importance of this dictum is so great I recommend that the abuse button be used for any posts discussing military information. I know this will put an extra strain on you and John but from this point onwards I shall do that unless you or John tell me otherwise.

On a related note, the networks drive me crazy with all the information and "stories" they broadcast. Last night Dan Rather was talking about the "messages" that our Intelligence agencies can intercept, listening in on conversations by Bin Laden, etc. REALLY BRIGHT! He interviewed William Coen, who I thought practically told him off for doing such a thing. Rather was asking how it was that we could intercept a message AFTER the fact but not have any clue BEFORE it happened....how it was that we didn't pick up anything when they were "planning" the attack. It's appalling the information the media would like to give away.

I do NOT get this endless discussion about attacking Afghanistan and wiping out bin Laden. Loose lips do sink ships. All this blustering has done is give them time to scatter like the roaches they are when the lights come on. (if they hadn't already)
This is a war and you don't warn your enemy, give troop movements, or continue allowing visas to people from the middle east - I don't care how many family members already live here or where they "say" they're going to school. Although this last is mostly symbolic as they will just walk in from Mexico or pay someone to put them ashore on the beach of their choice.

Now if we could just get CNN to comply, I doubt they would tho Not a problem - nobody believes their reports anymore...

Someone should tell Orin Hatch. Rumsfield sent him a messagebut did not say his name.

Thank you for your post. We should all remember that during Desert Storm in 1991, Saddam Hussein sat and watched all our activity on CNN, complete with interviews with military families, etc. The "people's right to know" ends when national security is involved.
Now, if people want to provide DISinformation, I have no problem.
To: JohnHuang2
Well, that's a big bump...almost requiring a "duh" bump too.
Beautiful Posters JimRob, absolutely on the money!
