You can see from the comparison that the wipeout in Texas was the result of a surge of Democrat votes, not low Republican turnout.

Page 193 of an Official Election Administration and Voting Comprehensive Report shows Texas processed 2,900,357 new valid voter registrations between 2022 and 2024. If most of the incredible number of new registrations are Democrats, Texas is lost.

Let’s not assume all was on the up and up just because most of it may have been.
Need to verify before certifying.

Question: What can our nation-wide defeat do for our future in regards to Trump accounts? If there’s ever a surplus statewide or even nation-wide the idea would be to invest it in our nations’ future, a term the rats use every election season. They talk of ‘education and infrastructure’ to the point to where it sounds like a broken record while lining the pockets of their allies. Dare them to come up with a better investment than what they already want.

The best comparison is 2024: Trump v. Harris and 2026: Abbott v. Hinojosa. Only 70.7% of Trump voters showed up to vote for Abbott, assuming no crossovers to the Democrats. But 92.5% of Harris voters showed up to vote for Hinojosa. I chose the Abbott/Hinojosa race because the governor had fewer ethical or moral issues than Paxton had. The composition of the electorate does not change that radically in two years. The alt-right or anti-war element of the GOP either skipped from voting or even defected to Hinojosa. Trump openly disdained and attacked right wing podcasters who opposed the Iran war. That element of the MAGA base walked away, or at least many of them did. Paxton's gap was larger than those of Abbott or the down ballot candidates. In his case, his personal issues combined with sour RINOs in the country club districts of Dallas and Houston who were Cornyn supporters.

I suspect that Hinojosa and the victorious Democrats who won the down ballot races were surprised, as in early 2026, their candidacies looked like suicide missions, perhaps rewarded with patronage jobs from a Democrat controlled White House in 2029.

This election was decided by the D/FW, Houston, and Austin/San Antonio cities. Rural counties, outside of a few south Texas are solid republican. Guess who lives in those citites?

Democrap from other states (Cali, Oregon, NY etc...) moving here to spread their cancer and Hindus and other foreigners. Texas needs to split into the 5 states they use to could do by their deal to become a state (probably undone by the civil war however).

The large jumps in Dem votes for Talarico and Hinojosa seem more than a little suspicious.

|However, the large influx of newcomers may have brought their political pathologies with them.

You can look at FR to see how many people turned on President Trump over the past year. Combined with the anti-Semite Right AKA Tucker Carlson types, and you can see what happened.

They voted democrat to punish President Trump for not being 100% pure of their wants.

As Trump requested, the voters voted like Trump was on the ballot.

Republicans lost every statewide contest in Texas. Luckily, the Republicans still control the Texas Supreme Court and the Texas Senate. Our freedom is still intact, even after this drubbing.

Paxton is and will always be a bucket of human slime and filth. Republicans in Texas deserved to have him shoved back down their throats.

We wouldn’t be having this conversation if Cornyn had been the candidate.

Cornyn would have lost, too.

A lot of people pin the losses on stereotypical groups: Californians, Yankees, Asians (East and South), Hispanics, blacks, AWFLs, Millennials, Gen Z. However, electorates do not change so radically in a mere two years. Whatever your opinion on Tucker Carlson and his cohorts, they reach a segment of the Trump base that Fox News, Salem, Newsmax, and old school AM talk radio doesn't reach. Plus, the enemy side is seriously infected with TDS, so they showed up at a nearly 93% rate compared with the Harris base of 2024, while Abbott's totals were less than 71% of Trump's two years earlier.

President Trump had knowledge of Iranian military plans that were not available to the general public. He may have done the right thing in preemptively attacking Iran, but there has been a huge domestic price that was paid.

Just like past elections, the polling was way off and that should raise suspicions about both the sampling methodology and exact vote totals for each candidate.

Prior to the election, many polls showed Paxton and Talarico in a dead-heat, even though Talarico was an unknown and Ken Paxton is as respected as any Republican politician.

And the governor of Texas beg them to come. I heard him say it a number of times. So unbelievable that his own actions caused his loss.

Why are we ignoring the fact that Texas has 19.1 M registered voters and only 40% of them voted? Looks like Texans can’t be bothered to participate in political activities. The numbers for Abbott are the same as in 2018, 2022 and 2026. The Rats managed somehow to come up with 2 M extra votes, while their opposition forgot that elections have consequences. Apparently, traditional Republican voters in Texas decided to, figuratively speaking, sell the “birthright” for “a mess of pottage” and stayed at home.

Great observation and insight!

Abbott got about 8,000 more votes in 2026 than in 2022 but still lost to Hinojosa by 710,000 votes. Kind of like Trump got more votes in 2020 than he did in 2016 but still "lost" to Biden.
