The Justice Department is threatening California with possible legal action after it says the state mailed ballots to noncitizens ahead of the midterm elections.
The DOJ sent a letter on Tuesday to California Secretary of State Shirley Weber informing her that federal officials provided Los Angeles County election officials with a list of names of individuals who authorities believe to be noncitizens.
Acting Deputy U.S. Attorney Trent McCotter warned that the state has 48 hours to confirm whether any of the individuals on the list were mailed ballots for the November 3 election. That deadline will expire later on Thursday.
"If you cannot implement this process by then, given the ongoing federal election, the United States will have no choice but to seek emergency relief," the letter states.
Weber released a statement protesting the federal demands on Wednesday, connecting it to earlier efforts by the DOJ to expunge noncitizens from California's voter rolls.
"In July of this year, President Trump and DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin made (still) unsubstantiated claims that California had 190,000 noncitizens on its voter rolls. Given the many high-profile examples of states purging U.S. citizens from their voter rolls based on DHS/SAVE data, SOS immediately requested written information about their methodology and data sources to back up their claims. They refused and provided California with nothing," Weber said in a statement.

Unless people get arrested they won’t care. What’s the worst that can happen under a lawsuit? They won’t personally be held liable so they don’t care.

I’d bet the State tracks every one of them. I am reminded of when Judicial Watch sued Los Angeles and the Court ordered the County to remove 1.2 MILLION bogus registrations.
To my knowledge, they never did.

I predict some judge will forestall this order and after the election it will go away.

They did, but they dragged it out for 5 years until 2024.

If you file a lawsuit before the election ...... “The election has mot been held yet, therefore no harm has occurred. Standing is denied. Case dismissed.” If you file after the election ..... “The election is over. The voters have spoken. Standing is denied. Case dismissed.”

Hasn’t a federal judge stepped in yet to stop all of this in its tracks?
Sad to say but don’t we all know by now that’s exactly what’s going to happen?

obama like so:
MARC FABER: If I Had To Vote For Obama Or Romney, I'd Shoot Myself Kinda reminds me of what the birthers went through:
Before the primaries they made the case.
They said it wasn't the right time because he wasn't actually his party's candidate. Before the main election they made the case.
They said it wasn't the right time because he wasn't actually the president elect.
Before the electoral college vote they made the case.
They said it wasn't the right time because he hadn't actually been elected until the electoral college said so.
Before the congress accepted the electoral college vote they made the case.
They said it wasn't the right time because he hadn't actually been approved until the congress accepted the electoral college vote.
Before was sworn in they made the case.
They said it wasn't the right time because he hadn't actually violated the constitution until he became president.
Now that he is in the White House, they say it's too late, you should have said something sooner!
Right now I am making the case before the convention that Romney is not a worthy candidate to be president.
