A U.N. committee warned Monday a host countries are legally bound to offer immediate cash settlements as reparations for the transatlantic slave trade alongside other yet to be determined measures – including, but not limited to “truth commissions” – to address the “enduring legacy of racial discrimination” it cautions still envelops the world to this day.
The beneficiaries will be “people of African descent.”

What damages are the slave descendants due from the descendants of the tribal chiefs who sold them to the Europeans to export to their colonies?

The surviving opposing men in the tribe were not enslaved.

That’s where the money went, to Muslim traders and black tribal chiefs. The lucky few of the captives ended up in North American English controlled areas, where their descendants eventually found better education, better living conditions, and altogether better lives than were ever available in their original African homes.
