U.S. Secret Service official: ‘Threat environment is the highest we’ve ever seen’

The briefing came ahead of Friday's rescheduled annual dinner for the White House Correspondents' Association at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington. Trump is set to attend.
The WHCA dinner in April was interrupted when a gunman stormed through a security checkpoint at the Washington Hilton. The man, Cole Tomas Allen, faces charges of trying to assassinate Trump.

A senior U.S. Secret Service official said Wednesday that the "threat environment" for the agency's protectees, who include President Donald Trump, "is the highest we've ever seen."

"What we're seeing now is something I've never seen before," said the senior official, who spoke to reporters at a background briefing on the condition that they not be identified by name before a public briefing.

There have been about 10,000 cases involving threats to government officials, including Supreme Court justices, so far in 2026, the official said, according to a pool report of the briefing by MS NOW. That represents a 40% increase in such cases over the same period last year.

I’ve been concerned that if the Iranians can’t get Trump and he continues to hammer them, that they’ll go after soft targets, like shooting down US commercial aircraft. That would trigger the biggest “FO” in the history of Earth however.

All believers should be praying daily for our leaders, for a hedge of protection around those fighting to protect our freedoms from that anti-Christ spirit attempting to rise up across the landscape.

The gates of hell cannot prevail.

Jesus gave us his authority in Matthew Chapter 18 to rebuke this evil. He promises to bind in heaven what we bind on the Earth

“Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” - Matthew 18:18

Both political parties, and their media minions, generate rage for votes, views, clicks, and likes.

I understand why they do it. It is an existential threat not to. You get a heck of a lot more energized voter base and attention with rage than anything else, and if they other side is going to do it, then you have to.

I don’t know how you fix it, but it needs to be fixed. Maybe politicians should be held to a higher standard of truth in their speech. Think in terms of a special class of defamation that applies only to politicians and appointed servants while in office and engaging in political speech. If a public official says it, they better damn make sure they can back it up.

They already went the airliner route- assisting the 8/11 hijackers and the USS Cole bombers and the Khobar Towers bombers and the YS Embassy bombers and so on.

If course they will continue ; but if they thought it cost prohibitive before it has only gotten more difficult for them, not easier.

All those years if blackmailing our politicians and making them too scared to do anything but appease Iran and give the regime money and license are coming to an end.

It would sooner or later anyway.

But America is the last nation standing. Resisting an evil spirit the Bible warned us would come. One so horrific that once it gets itself established and stood up, we will not be able to stop it without physical warfare on our door steps. Satan wants us to believe we have no choice.
