Senator Rick Scott endorses Ralph Norman for South Carolina’s U.S. Senate seat
X.com ^ | July 17, 2026 | Sen. RICK SCOTT

Posted on 07/18/2026 12:36:11 AM PDT by campaignPete R-CT

I'm proud to endorse my friend @ralphnorman for the U.S. Senate!

Ralph is a conservative fighter who will stand with @POTUS and help him deliver on the promises he made to the American people. Ralph has spent his career in the House doing exactly that, casting vote after vote to advance President Trump's agenda, including the SAVE America Act.

I've watched him put in the hard work, and I know he will deliver. He will do a great job for South Carolina!

DJT has asked Darline to consider running in primary with his full backing.

Didn’t he back Nikki Haley in the primary?

Wait! You’re not even a South Carolinian! Your handle is “R-Ct”. So you’re a Republican living in the enemy territory of Connecticut. I guess you’re ok :)

I’m not sure he is sincere...or just playing nice until a couple of candidates step p to the plate. And I don’t think she wants it...she likes her life.

Good for Rick Scott!

A tradition of many years standing had taken root that after someone dies in office, you offer the seat to the widow of the deceased office holder. In Lindsay Graham’s case, it looked like the same was going to develop with his sister.

It should always be the best person capable of representing the district well, not a sympathy gesture. I’m glad Rick Scott was willing to buck that trend. From what I’ve read about Norman, he will make a good replacement.

Rick Scott wanted Trey Gowdy. That’s like Hank Johnson level retard.

Norman doesn’t have the statewide support or a statewide organization in place for this primary sprint, but good on Rick Scott for supporting his friend and making his preference known.

I didn’t like Linseed’s sister being awarded a seat for being a sister. People around here kept telling me that it was just until the elections. No big deal. 🤔🙁👎

I knew that was bullchit. See, now all at once Trump wants to install this woman.

This nepo crap is disgusting. This is just one reason people do not trust government anymore.

well, there is a primary - this isn’t a coronation.geesh. Scott has his preference- DJT has his- other candidates will surface - and then and the people will speak. wounds like Freedom of Speech and the democratic process to me.

He said he would be OK with it. Not exactly coming out as a strong endorsement.

I guess there are those who think we have an aristocracy in this country. I don’t think blood relations are a reason to vote for anyone. I think its a sign of laziness on the part of voters.

That tradition sounds like title inheritance to me, which I though we abandoned when we sent the British packing.....

Good explanation.

did you read his Truth Social written after he met her yesteray— #4 above? sounds like you are not updated. RUN, DARLINE, RUN! i call that an endorsement. as i said before in the U S we are all entitled to our choice. as for who voters vote for, blood relative or no, they have the opportunity to take the measure of the candidate before choosing. i am sure some are better than others.generalizing is dangerous. Darline is not unknown to So Carolinians,as i understand it from my Spartanburg cousin. she has a decision to make- then SCarolinians will have their moment. as for the list of candidates already in, there is room for improvement, to my eye.but i don’t live there and have enough battles here in L.A.

we shall see. idon’tknow her so can’t read her mind. but as someone originally from a small Southern town myself, living in DC wouldn’t appeal - for so many reasons.

I don’t live in SC. They can run whomever they want. We certainly have our own set of problems in MA. LOL

I was responding more in a general sense. In MA we have had to deal with the Kennedy cabal for decades; their name alone does not make them worthy of a vote.

But I think the US deep down secretly wants royalty. I simply don’t get it.
