After the sudden death of US Senator Lindsey Graham was announced Sunday morning, the race for the US Senate in South Carolina has burst wide open, and it appears Nancy Mace wants in.
South Carolina Congresswoman Mace finished last in June's GOP primary for South Carolina Governor, after garnering just 12 percent of the vote.
Yet, multiple reports circulated on Sunday morning that Mace was considering re-entering the political arena.
South Carolina's current Governor, Henry McMaster, who is term-limited, will select a temporary replacement for Graham, and that candidate will need to win both a primary and a general election before being seated for a full term in the US Senate.
Mace said she was being pulled into the arena, posting a clip of actor Michael Corleone in The Godfather: Part III, captioned with the quote 'Just when I thought I was out… they pull me back in…'. The idea of Mace running for office again was not well-received by conservatives.
President Donald Trump teased that he had someone in mind to succeed Graham when asked about the future of the seat on NBC's Meet the Press earlier on Sunday, but declined to provide a name out of respect of his former primary foe turned friend, ally, and golf buddy.
'I have somebody that I think would be great. But I don't want to say it now because, you know, it's too soon with Lindsey,' Trump told Meet the Press moderator Kirsten Welker.
'I don't want to even talk about anybody. But I do have somebody that I think is really good,' Trump added.
Mace's former Republican House colleague and convicted fraudster, George Santos, wrote sarcastically on X, 'Do it! Please I need more s**t posting content.'

She came 5th in the governor election. Should people pay attention to her?
I knew it was the Daily Tale as soon as I read the headline. Nasty site.
I don’t matter as I’m not in her state; but some of her antics make her seem a little unhinged...
Lady Linda’s body is barely cold and Mace is out pushing for his Job.
Just say no!
I vote ‘NO’.
Ms Mace is a skilled debater when she wants to be, even formidable, but too often becomes a self centered exhibitionist, focused mainly on holding an audience for her own ego fulfillment.
**Others may sum it up in just two words “Loose cannon”.
Only because Trump didnt endorse her, had he I think she would have won..also Nikki Haley is from South Carolina, would she throw her hat the race, she could win but do we want her
Keep this sick freak far from the Senate.
It’s a bit early wouldn’t you say? Seems vulture-like.
If she played her cards right she could have had the seat but her run for governor would suggest congress is beneath her and she has higher aspirations than the governor’s mansion. I don’t like it. She’ll have nothing to do come January. It’s what could have been. Now she knows how Nikki Haley feels.
Princess Vicky Churchill is a pig. PRESIDENT TRUMP doesn’t “anoint” anybody, bimbo.
Exactly. Spot on. You never know when Nancy is going to throw a tantrum
and gum up the works. She is not a team player. Just say no to Nancy.

I wonder if South Carolinians mind Nikki’s fight to take down Confederate flags years ago.
Not sure PDJT makes the actual call there daily mail.
You mean the ‘Daily Fail’?
Sheesh Nancy couldn’t you give it a few days.
I’m not the biggest Nancy Mace fan either, and we surely don’t need any “loose cannons” in the Senate on the GOP side.
We need more spineless, vanilla, traitorous squishes like John Thune, John Cornyn, Lisa Murkowski and Mitch McConnell.
Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Anybody but Nikki Haley on the list of likely candidates is acceptable to me. Not sure about Pam Evette, but I’d be happy with Ralph Norman, Mark Lynch (though some simps hate him) or Mace.
If he picks, I hope he does better than Kavanaugh or Bryant
Little?
