I remember fifty years ago visitors from Europe afraid to go out of their hotels due to all the crime THEY SAW ON TV SHOWS in their native Europe.
They were shocked to find it was not bad as portrayed.
That's only partly true. Yes Leftist European elites get their talking points about America from Leftist American elites. The other half of the story is that's what they so badly wanted to believe in the first place.
Americans should start blaming Democrats for slavery, segregation, Trail of Tears, Japanese internment, family busting welfare, affirmative action / DEI, illegal immigration, and voter fraud.

Exactly what my niece’s husband told him.
There is a YouTube channel by a guy whose handle is "Serpentza" who lived in Communist China for 15 years, and he made that point. He is originally from South Africa (and I believe he became an American citizen after he left China) He said that in China, many newcomers who don't know the language or the writing have no idea how abjectly racist many Chinese are, and it is a shock when they begin to learn the language. Also, your comment about how big the USA is was amusing to me after seeing a report of a bunch of Scottish guys in Boston who completely didn't understand the distance between Boston and Miami, and decided to drive, thinking it would be an easy, short trip!
They should know we’re nice as we rebuilt and then protected their sorry country from 1945 on.

When I worked for Wally, we had a bunch of Brits come over to Bentonville, Arkansas in the early 2000s from the chain Wally owned in the UK. I was driving them and they were looking around asking about the house sizes. I told them they were really squeezing houses into smaller and smaller lots - some as small as 1/4 of an acre and how much I really hated this trend, when I was a kid in the 70s and 80s 1/2 acre lots were much more common. They thought I was joking. To them 1/4 of an acre was a big lot size. I just told them to look around out the window. Arkansas is half the land area of the UK. The UK had 60 million people. So to have the same population density, Arkansas would need to have 30 million. It actually had 2.5 million.
Its not just the Brits. All the continentals are like that (ie they don't grasp the size and distance). The ONLY ones who truly understood were the Russians.
