Labour has secretly dropped a ban on small-boat migrants and other illegal immigrants winning British citizenship.
The extraordinary U-turn came in the wake of a legal challenge which claimed the policy was a breach of human rights laws and international refugee treaties.
It means illegal migrants who win asylum here will now be able to secure British passports, three years after they were barred from doing so by the Conservatives.
Under documents drawn up by Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood they now simply have to claim it was 'outside their control' that they arrived in the UK without permission.
Remarkably, the Home Office's backtracking was slipped out on its website where it was described as a 'minor change'.
The Tories blasted Labour's 'weak' climbdown and warned it would encourage more migrants to cross the Channel illegally.
Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said: 'If Shabana Mahmood has any backbone she will urgently change the law to restore the Conservative absolute ban on illegal immigrants from claiming citizenship.

It must have been 20 or 30 years ago, but several left-wing backbenchers of the Labor government said that the purpose of unrestricted immigration was to completely change Great Britain. The Conservatives were warned and did NOTHING!

The ostensibly conservative Tories had large majorities from 2012-2024. Yet the governed so poorly and often absurdly that they were not only thrown out in the 2024 election but their party was shattered. There will probably never be another Tory government to govern Britain.The conservative opposition is now fractured and politically impotent. The 2028 national elections just might despite their unpopularity may win again over a fractured opposition. Would love to read a dispassionate analysis on just why and how this cataclysm happened.It won’t be long before any memorials or statues to Winston Churchill or Margaret Thatcher will be dismantled.

Of course Islamists are still making inroads here as well & it still needs to be brought to a screeching halt. It is absolutely incompatible with our Constitution & every Muslim in America should receive a dated GO HOME pass. They absolutely do not belong here unless they honor our laws. It’s only fair as we would be expected to follow THEIR laws in THEIR communities/countries. What’s wrong with th that? Is it not fair? The sooner our President & Congress get hot on this, the sooner it can happen.

Combine a godless self-hating leftism with a ruling elite prepared to betray their own country, and you have a nation committing suicide right out in public.
There is no saving Britain without a military coup and a spiritual revival. Which means there is probably no saving Britain.
Word games! They won’t give them citizenship, but they also won’t deport them, and they’ll still put them up in hotels, give them everything, and protect them in the courts.
