Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan’s re-election campaign is accusing one of his opponents in Alaska and Democrats in Washington of recruiting a candidate with the same first and last name: Dan Sullivan.
“Mary Peltola and D.C. Democrats know they can’t win this race on the issues, so they’ve resorted to dirty, dishonest tactics — recruiting a sham candidate with the sole purpose of deceiving voters and manipulating Alaska’s election system,” Nate Adams, the senator’s campaign spokesman, said in a statement Tuesday.

Yeah, politics has never been dirty in this country.
The candidate of the same name game has been played before and I doubt there is a law that prohibits a person running for office due to their name.
How about Chicago’s Rich Whitey?
I managed to find out that the imposter is Dan J Sullivan.

The sitting senator is Dan Scott Sullivan.
Not too much info out there on the imposter. His age is not even public. Nowhere to be found. I don’t think that he registered to run in the official way. I believe he is not even registered with the FEC.
Wow these people are total low-lifes seizing power is
all that matters to them.
Thanks to our BS jungle primary and ranked choice voting, this WILL lose some votes for the real Dan Sullivan. 😡
This is game over for Democrats...
Party is listed on statewide and federal elections
No GOP will ever vote Democrat, based on same name gimmick
Democrats will split their votes, between legit and gag candidates, because they think it’s funny, like teenage pranks.
Alaska is a lock for GOP Senate!!!
Ironic since Dan Sullivan is an imposter for Alaska legacy of Gov. George Sullivan’s son Dan Sullivan (former Anchorage mayor).
There should be a rule in the board of elections that is responsible for printing the ballots, to mark the second-applying person. A normal person would apply with a middle name or initial to distinguish themself—then the first one could campaign as "THE Dan Sullivan"e.g.—but this is a deliberate Democrat scam.
