Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has secured a $10 million settlement in a case against Texas Children's Hospital over illegal sex changes in the form of surgeries and prescriptions being given to minors. As part of the settlement, the hospital will also be forced to fund a "detransition" clinic and treat those patients free of charge for the first five years.
The settlement follows an investigation into the hospital begun in 2023 by Paxton's office accused of providing sex change treatments to minors after Governor Greg Abbott signed legislation banning children from getting puberty blockers and cross-sex hormone treatments.
“Today is a monumental day in the fight to stop the radical transgender movement. This historic settlement reflects an institutional and fundamental cultural shift away from radical ‘gender’ ideology. In addition to helping establish the first-ever Detransition Clinic and securing millions, this settlement will ensure that the deranged child mutilators who hurt our kids are fired and held accountable,” Paxton said.
"I applaud Texas Children’s Hospital for changing course and committing to being a part of the solution by agreeing to form a first-of-its kind Detransition Clinic that will help provide free care to those who have been victimized by twisted, morally bankrupt transgender ideology. Under my watch, I will investigate and bring the full force of the law against any Texas hospital that abuses children with harmful medical interventions to ‘transition’ kids.”
Texas Children's Hospital will pay $10 million to the state for "billing Texas Medicaid for unallowable and illegal ‘gender-transition’ interventions, including by using false diagnosis codes; and compels the termination and revocation of privileges of multiple physicians," a press release from Paxton's office said.
The detransition clinic will be funded by the hospital for the first five years and will be free of charge for patients that are admitted. "As part of the settlement, Texas Children’s has also agreed to fire, permanently and irrevocably terminate all existing privileges, and never again hire or credential five woke doctors who performed harmful medical interventions on Texans," the AG's office states.

When Cornyn is challenged in a primary, he ups his game to meet the expected baseline.
Paxton does something useful that shows that true western civilization values (not just MAGA) are in his bones (despite his personal failings).
Who would trust Texas Children’s Hospital to do the right thing? They’ve already let their true intentions be known.
Just defund them and let others rise to take their place.

This was inevitable.
Boston children’s hospital literally saved my grandson’s life. If he had been born a couple decades sooner or in any other country he would have certainly died in infancy. Today he is a healthy 15-year old. I was distraught when the board of directors approved a motion to allow BCH to perform “transition” surgery, expensive and ineffective cosmetic surgery, fraught with medical and legal risk. This is how great institutions die.
There are children in Texas, and others in Boston, who may die because of this utter and mindless foolishness.
Or his work doing anything. The guy has accomplished nothing except taking up a seat in the Senate.

Ken Paxton is a huge plus for this country and would make a great Senator. His opponent John Cornyn is a proven political prostitute and deserves to be in jail, not in DC.
