The data are in, they’re not looking good, and the implications for America’s future are dire.
Recently, a report was released on the latest fertility rate numbers for the United States, and they are alarming. For several years, they’ve been low enough to cause worry about American replacement rates, but in 2025, they hit a new low:
The United States is experiencing a demographic shift that could reshape the nation’s future. Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows America’s total fertility rate has plummeted to a historic low of 1.6 children per woman—well below the 2.1 replacement level needed to maintain population without immigration.
The US has remained below replacement level fertility since 2007, with only brief exceptions since the early 1970s. The trend accelerated after the Great Recession and shows no signs of reversing, sparking intense debate about what this means for America’s economic and social future.

The dynamics of this trend are complicated. Between 2024 and 2025, birth rates improved for women over 30, but not enough to offset the decline for women under 30. A common belief about delaying pregnancy is that women are pursuing careers, but that’s not the case here. Instead, the women report waiting for the “right partner.” Whether the difficulty is the lack of interaction with eligible males or that the women are expecting the perfect relationship is unclear.
Desiring financial security is also an issue. That need reflects the concerns about student debt, the cost of childcare, and the cost of housing:
It’s no surprise that 83% of women and 69% of men view childcare costs as a major national problem. For many families, the prospect of paying these costs for multiple children makes additional births financially impossible.

There are many implications flowing from this data.
First, postponing pregnancy creates a downstream problem, which is that women are less fertile and have fewer children over time.
Second, many find the financial demands overwhelming, even when both parents have jobs; women who leave the workforce reduce the family’s income.
Third, faced with the seemingly onerous financial burden, younger adults look to their friendships to fill their relationship needs, which often replaces the desire to create a family.
Fourth, the impact on the country’s long-term economy could be substantial. As people age out of the workforce and the cohort of future workers shrinks due to lower birth rates, there will be fewer Social Security funds available.
I think there are a number of factors coming together:
(1) Feminism/gynocentrism has destroyed society resulting in a very small number of young people (especially feminist women) are suitable for marriage;
(2) Marriage and the family court system is increasingly (and in my opinion, accurately viewed) by men as an unconscionable contract - with this perspective, a man would be crazy to take part; and
(3) Costs are out of control.
The most important of these is number 1. You cannot have feminism and marriage in the same society, and all of us, to some degree are feminists. (We all live in a society steeped in the ideology and it affects us all). If we fix feminism, then we can also fix imbalances in the law.
3 Generations of wage suppression policies have taken their toll.
Many people under 30 can’t afford to have children, heck many can’t afford to leave their parent’s home.
Also the morals changed. People used to want to get married to have sex, now many don’t need or want marriage to have sex.
It was better before.
Ducunt Fata Volentem, Nolentem Trahunt!
“...When reason have to be put forward at all in a question of life, life itself has become questionable. At that point begins prudent limitation of the number of births.
It is all the same whether the case against children is the American lady’s who would not miss a season for anything, or the Parisienne’s who fears that her lover would leave her, or an Ibsen heroine’s who “belongs to herself” - they all belong to themselves and they are all unfruitful...”
The future belongs to those who show up. Rome had a population of about a million in the Augustian age, but by the time Attila the Hun stood at the gates its population was a few ten thousand. The remnant were all Catholic. It will be the same this time, only those who keep the Faith will be around in the future.
As for the last point, it’s going the other way. Increasing numbers of young men are no longer interested in sex as a motivation. Modern feminist women and the legal system have driven home their lessons. Increasing numbers of studies are showing that hetero men 18-25 aren’t interested in dating or sex, stating that the risks aren’t worth the rewards.
The fem-i-sphere on social media is going absolutely nuts over this fact too. They’re finding that young men are no longer interested in them at all and it’s making them crazy. “Why don’t men approach?” is a common question.

**********************,
Your post is one of the more accurate on the main problem facing our nation, which is feminist ideology. This destructive ideology has been allowed to turn into a cancer like force that is a hurdle to the future growth & improvement of our civilization.
While this is happening, many conservatives spend their time obsessing about Muslims, illegals, and lower class blacks instead of confronting “Feminist Supremacy” that is destroying us from within.
There’s also the problem of divorce. No man wants to lose everything he worked for in a divorce. This is only getting worse as younger women take marriage less seriously and see it as a free ride.
In Africa, where Governments are little better than organized crime , the people know they have to take care of themselves. So they continue to expand their population.
It might also have to do with the maturity level of those in their twenties. They just are not ready for the adult reality of marriage and family. It’s not just financial hardship that is holding them back. It is also the idea you have to have it all before marriage and having a family. Goals are no longer combined but met in a step progression. Get the career established. Save X amount of dollars. Find a house. Then look for someone to share that with. That takes time.
Here comes da judge. ☢️
🎯
To many men can’t afford to get married before 30.
To many women want to party and have fun until they are 30 and then wonder why they can’t find husbands.
The culture and the economy needs to change.
Taking out the trash is too inconvenient for them.
It’s feminism more than costs
I’m in it first hand
Thats not it. Feminized socialist liberal media will hever discuss the real issues. They will lose the few readers they have left.

That takes time. That applied to me - which is why I didn't marry until I reached the venerable age of 38.
Of course, that didn't negatively impact my 22-year-old bride, who gave birth to our first child just nine months later.
A model which I can highly recommend to anyone wishing to propagate the species / ensure sound demographics.

No! My daughter pays $2600/month for her 2 year old child. She can’t afford second child until her child is in elementary school
