At least two oil and chemical tankers were forced to turn away from the Strait of Hormuz on Monday after the United States moved to enforce a naval blockade, according to maritime tracking data.
One of the vessels, Rich Starry, which had listed its destination as China, reportedly reversed course within minutes of the blockade taking effect, data from MarineTraffic showed.
Responding to the developments, China issued a strong message signalling it would continue its maritime activity in the region. Defence Minister Dong Jun said Chinese vessels would keep operating in the area and warned against external interference.
“Our ships are moving in and out of the waters of the Strait of Hormuz. We have trade and energy agreements with Iran. We will respect and honour those agreements and expect others not to interfere in our affairs,” he said.
He also asserted that Iran controls the Strait and that it remains open for Chinese vessels.
The waterway is crucial for Beijing, supplying nearly 40 per cent of its oil and at least 30 per cent of its LNG needs. Hence, China has been pushing for a ceasefire to secure the critical waterway in the Gulf.

So send your navy China.
“The waterway is crucial for Beijing, supplying nearly 40 per cent of its oil and at least 30 per cent of its LNG needs. Hence, China has been pushing for a ceasefire to secure the critical waterway in the Gulf.” I read it’s 2.5% for the US.
They can’t
No friendly ports for warships...
No fuel
Iran is essentially in the custody of the USA. If it wants to continue to receive oil it must pay the US in order for this to continue.
Sorry China that’s just the way it is, blame your dealer not the game.
Or... what?
China, tell Iran to give up on attempts to control Hormuz.
That was a strongly worded letter.....
Sure thing. But just outside them thar straits is deep water and open ocean just the sort of place that steely-eyed killers of the deep lurk and prey that is if the surface ships and Special Forces guys in helicopters don't get you first. Oh and in case you didn't notice we have a killer of a chair force as well who want in on the fun. And then there is NavAir who would like some more practice on filing ShipSunk forms. You could choose to send some of your own subs of course. Let's play a game. Who's the hunter and who's the hunted?
“China asserted that Iran controls the Strait and that it remains open for Chinese vessels.”
That was yesterday. Today a new boss took over control of the Strait and if you want oil, tell Iran to get their s**t together and quit acting crazy.
Give the ChiComs a taste of their own South China Sea behavior.
Blowing Kharg Island to bits takes these types of cards off the table.
Darn it, we accidentally lost a few mines of our own. Hey China, would you send some tankers to help us find them?
Bryan Dean Wright articulated this rather well today on his podcast IMO, in a way this has nothing to do with the raghead nutbag Iranians but rather a strong message to the Chicoms that their proxy Iran had better lighten up if they don’t want to get destroyed (my words) which they are headed for.
These 7th century barbarians basically locked up the peace talks as they said they won’t accept any deal that does not allow them to build nukes and the free nuclear fuel for atomic energy plants does not interest them and why the peace talks ended.
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww ya mean China is suffering, aint that a pity..such a shame, such a shame/sarc
China sounds angry, are they gonna create another virus in their lab to spread around the world and everyone will still kiss their ass
China should call up Iran and tell them to make a deal with Trump
The CCP is being squeezed by the US Military.
Love it!
The CCP obviously wasn’t expecting a US Naval blockade of Iran!
LOL!
US demoncrats weren’t expecting it either….they are so far behind the game that it’s getting comical.
Chinese naval vessels regularly dock in Oman (Port of Salala, Duqm Port), UAE, and Pakistan.
Here’s the really fun part no one is talking about:
Chile is the worlds largest producer of copper. China had agreements in place with the country until February when we made agreements that included all kinds of support for various industries
Chile is the world’s largest producer of copper, third-largest producer of lithium
In fact, In February, the United States signed a binding memorandum of understanding related to these goals with 11 countries worldwide, four of them in Latin America: Argentina, Peru, Paraguay and Ecuador. (they ommitted Brazil but, whatever)

Here is a good one:
Invisible war of the 21st century: rare earths put Brazil at the center of the global technological dispute
Brazil stops being a supporting player and becomes a protagonist.
The country has:
the 4th largest rare earth reserve in the world
nearly 95% of global niobium reserves
In addition, it holds large volumes of lithium, nickel and graphite — essential inputs for the new green and digital economy.
The result is inevitable:
Brazil became a strategic target of international interest.
Geopolitical dispute has already begun
The race for these resources is already underway.
The United States, for example, is seeking to reduce its dependence on China and is already making progress on Brazilian reserves, including agreements that guarantee priority supply to American companies.

In any case. Can Chiner invade Tawain? Bigger question is can they hold it.
They don’t the ability to project power 10,000 miles with their navy and have only two overseas ports: Cambodia and Jubuti....or whatever....
