Christian parents separated from daughters lose appeal for reunification; labeled 'extremists' for attending church

Swedish authorities claim attending church 3 times a week is evidence of 'religious extremism'

A Swedish couple that have been separated from their two eldest daughters for nearly four years due to alleged “religious extremism” have had an appeal rejected by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

Daniel and Bianca Samson’s ordeal began in late 2022 when government authorities took the daughters into their care. The intervention was prompted by an allegation by the eldest daughter that her parents would not allow them to wear makeup or own a phone due to their purported “religious extremism.”

Sweden is where Ake Green in 2005 had to go to the Supreme Court of Sweden to avoid a six month prison sentence for outlining some of the Biblical arguments against homosexuality in a 2003 sermon. Lest one think that he was some hate-filled monster, here are the comments that he made to his congregation immediately after the sermon in question:

We must never think that some people, because of their sinful lives, would end up outside of grace. Paul says about himself that he was the foremost of all sinners, but he encountered an abundance of grace and mercy. He also states in First Corinthians 6:9-11, when he lists sexual immorality with other sins, that you can be saved from all the listed sins, including sexual immorality. What these people need, who live under the slavery of sexual immorality, is an abundant grace. It exists. It is valid also for them. Therefore we will encourage those who live in this manner to look at the grace of Jesus Christ. We cannot condemn these people -- Jesus never did that either. He showed everyone He met deep respect for the person they were, for instance the adulterous woman, in John 8, or the woman at the well in Sychar, according to John 4. Jesus never belittled anyone. He offered them grace. We must never belittle anyone who lives in sin. The sin we cannot bear -- but the human being [we must hold up]. Surely we still believe it is as Paul says in the Letter to Titus [2: 11-12]. Listen:

''For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.''

I wonder if praying five times a day every day of the year is also an example of religious extremism. Probably not!

Europe is lost.

And they haven’t been worth saving for a long time.

“Jesus never belittled anyone.”

Depends on your definition of belittle, but he did have some choice words for the Pharisees.

Wow. Attending Catholic schools in the 60’s and 70’s there was this thing called daily Mass which I attended. Plus daily religion class in school.

Glad I traveled to many countries in Europe when they were still fairly sane. My daughter went to Tunisia to see that other religious culture, some fascinating old ruins there. And my son when to Kenya to see wild animals

Times have changed and the Tunisians and all other Muslims who have been creeping along on their bellies silently like the invading snakes they are now have the numbers to permanently destroy the West.

We need sky-high border walls made with electrically charged materials that will kill anyone that touches them. Appropriate signs in approriate languages of course. .and some kind of chemical spray that only animals can smell to keep harmless wildlife away.

Makes me glad that I don’t have grandchildren.

Now I have to worry about my four granddogs. Muslims hate dogs.

There’s a reason the Puritans, Quakers, and other religious groups emigrated to the New World and, later, America.

Here’s a clearer overview of their case by the European Conservative:

I attended military school as a child, from kindergarten through 9th grades. We had Bible study two days a week, an evening “vespers” service for students boarding at the school on Wednesday evenings, and Chapel on Fridays.
