Israel is blowing up Iran’s police state to clear the way for a revolt

TEL AVIV—Israel’s military is targeting the Iranian police state that brutally suppressed protests and killed thousands of people, with the hope of clearing the way for a popular revolt to overthrow the Islamic government.

Israeli airstrikes on Wednesday carried out a wave of strikes targeting people responsible for internal security, from members of the Basij paramilitary force to senior intelligence officials, the Israeli military said. Israel, along with the U.S., has also hit some domestic-security agencies, including the Tehran headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the powerful group responsible for defending and perpetuating the regime.

The Revolutionary Guard and Basij militants were the main perpetrators of the bloody crackdown against antigovernment protesters in January. They opened fire on crowds, killing thousands in one of the deadliest acts of political crackdowns worldwide in decades. Police units and intelligence services also suppressed rallies and arrested protesters en masse.

While the dems are howling about how the US is becoming an oppressive dictatorship, in many states they passed or are passing draconian gun laws banning the most effective small arms for resisting oppressive dictatorships. Any time a dem pol deigns to answer questions they should be asked if they are happy that the Iranian civilian populace is disarmed and thus safer according to dem policy.

There is a need to put doubt and dread into the murderous police forces. They can look around and see that favored status is not protecting the high leadership; they are dropping under the rubble.

Taking out dozens of thugs won't get the job done. But with total air superiority, bomb trucks, and tens of thousands of precision munitions (dumb bombs with tail kits) a whole bunch of low-level killers can be brought to justice.

And the thugs have to calculate if their neighbor is going to make a phone call and disclose their location right this second to that plane overhead.

I don't know how this will turn out. And neither do the Iranian thugs; they are probably considering a Plan B.

I agree, but we both know they would never answer that way publicly. I would love to see them asked about it though. Just to see what they came up with. Questions like: do you think the Iranian civilian population should be limited to a 10-round magazine limit? Would a resistance movement in Iran be more effective without access to suppressors?
