Me: Muslims always surprise the West because Muslims never "cut their losses", being martyred is victory for them and Americans don't get that. You have to kill all the extremists to get anywhere against Muslims. If they exist, they fight.
And yet we continue to import Muslims into our own society. To prove how nice we are, or something....

Define losing. So far the Iranian regime continues to exist and has control of its enriched uranium. The mullahs are the frontmen. The people who conrol the regime are the tens of thousands that control the oil industry and its revenues, the banks, the bazaars, the food, the military and the goons. They will not resign or give up power voluntarily. It will take boots on the ground to uproot these people and transform Iran. It wont be easy and it will be costly in every way.

Agreed. Define losing. Wars no longer are conventional. Did the US and Israel pummel Iran’s army, navy and other military targets into rubble? Yes. Did the US and Israel kill a number of high-ranking leaders? Yes. If we stop the war, could a new crop of mullahs led by a new ayatollah be launching waves of $30,000 drones at Israel and Iran’s Gulf neighbors six months from now? Yes.

Not entirely true. If you happen to be the WRONG KIND of Muslim, you are in far greater danger from other Muslims than any countervailing effort on the part of non-Muslim practitioners of faith.
Death cult, almost to the maximum. Oddly, not all Muslims subscribe to the “Death to infidels!” fatwa, but then, they are also heavily under attack from the Islamic Jihadists.
One struggles to understand the psychology behind all this. Poor self-esteem, maybe?
By the way, we were told that the USA’s weapons would only last a week if we got into a war.
We are about to “FO” about that.

Who’s running Venezuela?
Regime change is preferred but not the goal. If they get bombed into the stone age with no way to wage war other than throwing stones our goals have been achieved. Your stated objective is not a requirement.
That maybe your criteria for success but it is not necessary the criteria for most people, let alone this military engagement.
