Ahead of the meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump, Israeli officials are concerned that Washington may force a transition to Phase II of the Gaza agreement without the return of the last killed hostage, Israel Police Yamam special operations unit Staff Sgt. Ran Gvili, and without firm commitments to Hamas’ disarmament and the demilitarization of the Strip.
In Jerusalem, there is concern that the Americans will seek to move forward “at any cost,” potentially demanding further Israeli withdrawals and the opening of the Rafah crossing in both directions, while showing less interest in the facts on the ground. Netanyahu is therefore expected to request guarantees from Trump before agreeing to move to Phase II.
Netanyahu, his wife Sara and their delegation landed in Florida on Sunday evening. Gvili’s mother and brother are also expected to join Netanyahu in the United States, and Israel hopes Trump will agree to meet them, to show him that a family is still waiting for closure. Among the guarantees Netanyahu is expected to seek are a commitment to Gvili’s return and firm assurances regarding Hamas’s disarmament and the demilitarization of Gaza.

There are little publicized stories now of unrest among Iranians. Isn’t the highly paid and dangerous CIA supposed to be doing regime overthrows and sabotage? Why does our military have to be involved now?
I watched Trump and Netanyahu in a short press availability before their lunch this afternoon. At first I didn't recognize him. I was shocked at how aged Netanyahu appeared: Thin with an old man face, sparse white hair. He appears very old and frail, much more so than when Trump was in Israel to announce the Phase I cease-fire.
Trump’s looking real old as well, compared to 2020.
The world needs to support the uprising. The mullahs are sick and weak. There is literally no water in the country. The people can tolerate a lot of things and be forced in to compliance by brutality. But having no water is a horrible horrible thing. I could drink water for 5 days after surgery back in ‘11. I was hallucinating and the only thing my entire body wanted was to drink a big glass of water. Multiply that by ten million people in Tehran.
I think once Tehran runs out of water things will get real interesting there.

May the Good Lord strengthen both world leaders, may sanity rule, praises for all who work for peace.
“ In Jerusalem, there is concern that the Americans will seek to move forward “at any cost,” potentially demanding further Israeli withdrawals and the opening of the Rafah crossing in both directions, while showing less interest in the facts on the ground. ”
This was obviously written before Pres. Trump’s “Give ‘em hell” statement.
Not our business.
Not coming back, they fed them to the dogs
Hopefully I’m wrong, but I’ll be surprised if Gaza is completely demilitarized before Trump leaves office. More likely, the new “international peace keeping body” who wants to build new resort properties tries to rush in, and gets caught in an ambush/quagmire.
I wish that were the case but in a world of ICBM supersonic missiles of a nation that pledges to destroy the USA it is our business. Our oceans no longer protect us.
