Police had been responding to disturbances at Rob and Michele Reiner's Los Angeles mansion for over a decade – long before the Hollywood legend and his wife were found dead inside their home, the Daily Mail can reveal.
LAPD records obtained by the Daily Mail show officers were called to the family's $13.5 million Brentwood property at least six times: in 2013, 2014, 2017, twice in 2019, and on December 14, the day the Reiners were killed.
The 'calls for service' were for incidents ranging from alleged family violence to welfare and mental health checks.
'There's been quite a few calls for service at the Reiner house,' a source close to the LAPD told the Daily Mail.
'The West LA division of LAPD was summoned to that home on many occasions.'
Nick Reiner, 32, charged with murdering his parents Rob and Michele with a knife, had been living in the guest house at the property on and off for years, sources close to the family say.
The revelation about police callouts suggests there had been trouble at the home well before the legendary movie director and his wife were found with their throats reportedly cut on Sunday afternoon.
Among the list of incidents is a call on May 5, 2017 at 4.04pm with the code 'BFV INVEST', meaning a battery of family violence investigation.
The logs say that a police report was written up about the incident.
A September 27, 2019 call received at 4.24pm was given the category '918M', for mental health-related check on a male subject.
After attending, officers marked the case as not requiring any further police action.
Earlier that year on February 25 officers were called to perform a welfare check at 9.51pm...
Another welfare check was called in on August 4, 2013 at 3.31am...

If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?
Reiner tried to manage the entire country.
“Reiner tried to manage the entire country.”
___________
Dysfunctional people tend to believe they have all the answers, if people would just obey them. The cause of turmoil.
These are the people who want to tell us how to live
I sympathize with Reiner for trying to get help for his son. But when the son is so violent that the police are repeatedly being called to their house for violence and welfare checks, they need to wake up and see that he has to be kicked out and not let back in. They were engaging in the worst form of naive blindness.
Hahahahaha...in a nutshell, you just described Leftists! Well done! Your post made me grin when I read it...:)
We are all imperfect and prone to sin, but we are generally aware of this, set a standard (often based on Christian principles) that we attempt imperfectly to follow, but when we fail, we try to do better.
Leftists simply dispose of that step of having any kind of standard that they can be called on for failing to meet, so they are the most weirdly imperfect and dysfunctional, yet tyrannical people in this country.
If they kept their "standards" (or lack of them) to themselves as individuals, we would as a nation be in less of a pickle, but...since they are collectivists, they insist we adopt their failed "standards".
I’ve never liked him or his politics, but it sounds like he and the wife were carrying a heavy burden. They didn’t deserve to die like they did, but they did deserve to get their own house in order before trying to tell others how to live.
This family was a drug addicted disaster. Yet they lecture us how to raise our kids.
But still, SCHADENFREUDE.
Yes. Spot on. Scott Adams, whose professional life as a cartoonist was decimated with the help of Rob Reiner who made a campaign out of cancelling Adams for his comments on race relations, was far more conciliatory and understanding of the issue the Reiner’s faced than I think I might have ever been able to be in his shoes.
I watched a video cast Adams made from his hospital bed, and was impressed with him.
So sad...
Unfortunately, you can’t have people like Nick committed to an institution anymore.
Ironic that it was the RAT Party behind that fact.
Reiner was ignoring his situation while attacking Trump. He should have put a lock on his bedroom door. An Ebenezer Scrooge double lock. But he didn’t recognize the situation.
The son had schizophrenia and clinical depression. Was also a drug addict. Terrible combination. Just a matter of time before he attacked someone. Should have been committed to an insane asylum years ago, but since he lived with Rob Reiner, he was already in an asylum.
Coconut inconsolable for stopping the 911 call, which if it had been made, would have deflected the murders ... for a while. Schadenfreude.
The guy had to go into therapy after Trump won. He was just as mentally ill as his son.
He had no place to lecture Donald Trump when his family was was such a dumpster fire.
I can’t help but think that if Rob had paid more attention to his son’s troubles and needs, and less time foaming at the mouth with hatred, screaming at Trump, the outcome might have been different. His unbridled hatred can’t have been a good example for Nick.
Just like OJ. These are rarely random incidents.
As a parent I would hope I will never be estranged from my children, but most of us are not in a position to care for violent mentally ill addicts.
