When many people have lost all hope, they turn to Jesus, and it's a beautiful thing. When clownish dictators have lost all hope and turn to Jesus, it's kind of hilarious. Maybe not quite as hilarious as standing up in front of a crowd and singing John Lennon's "Imagine" in hopes that you'll rally the people of the United States to tell their president to leave you alone so you can terrorize Venezuela in peace, but hilarious all the same.

Since Communist karaoke night didn't work out, Nicolás Maduro has now turned to a higher source for help: God. On Tuesday, he held a "prayer meeting for peace" at Miraflores Palace in Caracas and declared Jesus Christ as the "lord and master of Venezuela." Several members of Maduro's illegitimate regime, along with his wife, son, and some evangelical pastors, attended the event, which was broadcast on state media.
"Know that this presidential palace is truly the people’s palace, and from today onward it is an altar to glorify God , for the people to glorify God, a great altar of prayer and strength," he said. He also reportedly said that as el presidente — which he is not — he has some sort of special relationship with Jesus. I have a feeling it's one-sided.
The fact of the matter is that Maduro is running out of allies and doesn't have a lot of places left to turn. As one of my favorite journalists, Arturo McFields, wrote earlier this month, the dictator has tried to reach out for help, ...

Imagine, no Madura;
Imgaine, no cartels...
One woman who posted here about three years ago said she didn’t want to worship in a church that taught that the most evil despicable people may at the last second take the chance to ask for forgiveness and get it and then end up in Heaven with the good people. Serial child abductors and torture killers for example.
She had a good point.
Could you please sing that like Maduro? Maybe with a piano and guitar accompaniment?
Jesus isn’t a drug lord, just Lord.
He also isn’t a socialist.
I always suspected John Lennon of sympathizing with Communist causes.
One good bullet.....
Wouldn’t that be great if true?
He wasn’t entirely sympathetic to communists ...
“But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao
You ain’t gonna make it with anyone anyhow”
“Many who are first will be last, and the last will be first” (Matt. 19:30).
Didn’t Jesus himself have a parable about this? The vineyard owner hiring men later in the day and paying them the same as the guys who worked all day?
The Laborers in the Vineyard (Matthew 20:1-16)
Interesting interpretation in GotQuestions:
“The landowner, whose decision to pay all the workers the same was an act of mercy—not injustice—represents God, whose grace and mercy are shed abundantly upon those of His choosing. “For he says to Moses, ‘I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.’ It does not, therefore, depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy” (Romans 9:15-16).
In the matter of salvation, His grace and mercy are given to those whose self-righteous works could never obtain it. We are all sinful and “fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23), but His grace is sufficient to redeem all who believe.
Whether God calls someone early or late in life to partake of His grace, the glory and praise for our salvation is His and His alone and in no way amounts to unfairness. Just as the landowner has a right to do what he wishes with his own money, so does God have the right to have mercy on whom He will have mercy.”
You know, if you think about it Jesus probably needed a good laugh.
I don’t think it really matters if Maduro stays or goes. I have a feeling that Pres. Trump has enough intel to do major damage to the drug lords in Venezuela. If Maduro complains, who cares, and after the strikes, he has no money.
I only hope the cartels are so closely entwined with the Iranians, Cubans and Rooskies, that they’re taken out, too.
Then, take out the commie drug lords in Colombia, too. Petro will go nuts when his cocaine supply goes up in smoke, but who cares.
Imagine there’s no voting,
just my name and none beside,
Imagine going boating,
blowing up halfway through your ride ...
Ever hear of the thief on the cross?
Life-long scoundrel, a mere seconds before death accepts Jesus as Lord. The result?:
"Today you will be with Me in paradise."
