On Thursday’s broadcast of Newsmax TV’s “Rob Schmitt Tonight,” Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins discussed data on food stamps and said that data from blue states is “going to give us a platform and a trajectory to fundamentally rebuild this program, have everyone reapply for their benefit, make sure that everyone that’s taking a taxpayer-funded benefit through SNAP or food stamps, that they literally are vulnerable and they can’t survive without it.”
Rollins stated, “29 states, mostly the red states, responded with their data sets, February, March, April. … But here’s the most unbelievable news I have really, just over the last few days: That 5,000 dead people, that was just one month, the number is closer to 186,000 deceased men and women and children in this country are receiving a check. Now, that is what we’re really going to start clamping down on. Half a million are getting two. But here’s the really stunning thing: This is just data from those 29 mostly red states. Can you imagine when we get our hands on the blue state data, what we’re going to find?”
She continued, “It’s going to give us a platform and a trajectory to fundamentally rebuild this program, have everyone reapply for their benefit, make sure that everyone that’s taking a taxpayer-funded benefit through SNAP or food stamps

“This is just data from those 29 mostly red states.”
You’ll have to interpolate the Blue States.
They will not participate.
And if you hold the sword of funding over their head, they will sue ... and win.
and check it every year after they do their taxes to see if they need it
The SNAP they receive should be counted as INCOME

The 21 states that refused to send their SNAP data to the USDA are:
California
Colorado
Connecticut
Delaware
Hawaii
Illinois
Maine
Maryland
Massachusetts
Michigan
Minnesota
Nevada
New Jersey
New Mexico
New York
Oregon
Pennsylvania
Rhode Island
Vermont
Virginia
Washington
And, of course, Washington, D.C. is in the mix too.
These states are stonewalling because they know the fraud is massive. When you hide the books, it’s never to protect the honest folks—it’s to cover up the rot. Meanwhile, the states that did cooperate are already exposing exactly the kind of abuse the left swears doesn’t exist.

Look at how the numbers grow for Snap in California.
From just under 6 billion in 2019 to just over 11 billion in 2021
California received at least $12.6 billion in federal SNAP benefits in fiscal year (FY) 2024, which is 99% of the state’s total food assistance funding for that

People do recertify on a regular basis.
I expect to see a lot of scams related to this:
Dear Snep racipent,
Kindly click on teh lnk heer to reapplay to snep. http:/oilministeroflagos.ng
It will be a web portal for the application process. The folks applying just have to check the “I agree” box and the I’m not a robot” box and the money will flow like normal.
Now if the feds rolled into every city and town and set up a temporary application center and the folks have to submit to be fingerprinted, DNA sample collected and facial recognition, then that might be able to weed out the scammers.
THANK YOU, JESUS!!!
Clean slate this and start over.
I bet the rolls are reduced by 95%!!!!!
A fatal flaw in so many programs is sending taxpayer money to DC where it gets swirled around, a percentage of it taken out and then returned to the states with strings attached. Just let the states keep their own Tax money and pay for their own SNAP type programs. The number of people getting these benefits would go down so fast.
Nope.
May win in district courts.
Will almost certainly lose at SCOTUS.
Most recipients probably don’t have to file taxes.
Excellent idea. It shouldn’t be considered an entitlement and it sure as hell shouldn’t become a lifestyle.
The SNAP clientele will need to have their tats counted, their nails and box braids looked at to see if they still qualify.
I saw one woman furious that she was being turned away from buying her hair weave with her SNAP benefits.
Check out their car, their ‘luxuries’ that working people cannot afford.
I am at issue with the breeders who continue to have more children so they can get more money.
The children suffer. I saw one woman with NINE KIDS and is currently pregnant with TRIPLETS.
She is TWENTY EIGHT so has at least 10 more breeding years and is collecting thousands in benefits while contributing NOTHING to society.
The amount probably won’t change their tax filing status as they’re likely under the “must file” amount.
It’s a federal program. Seems like they should be able to require verification of eligibility. Use the IRS database, and cross-reference. No tickee, no laundry.
GOOD!
It’s a start.
And weed out the illegals to begin with.
And figure out what to do about the ghettopotamuses.
