Two boxes of uncounted ballots found days after Maricopa County's election

Maricopa County election workers discovered Friday morning two sealed boxes of ballots that were mistakenly not returned on the night of Tuesday's election.

Workers were inspecting equipment returned from voting locations in the Valley and found two sealed boxes containing 2,288 ballot envelopes, according to Deputy Elections Director for Communications Jennifer Liewer. Poll workers apparently placed the boxes by mistake in a blue drop box instead of returning them on Nov. 4.

Liewer said a bipartisan team of election staff have taken custody of the boxes to ensure chain-of-custody protocols were followed. The ballot envelopes will now go through the signature verification process and be tabulated as part of the county's results.

Tuesday's special election included several school bond and override questions, the recall of a Mesa city council member, and the $900-million bond measure to expand health care services.

And of course, the 2,288 ballots will be just enough to get the Rat elected.

This happens over and over again, and ALWAYS helps the democrat.

The Justice Department must cover this like white on rice. Maricopa County is a pit of corruption.

AZ has the most incompetent Sec. of State (or whomever it is that’s responsible counting the vote) in the nation. And my state, NV, has nothing to brag about either.

Was the vote close where a Rat or Rat-supported ballot measure failed to get enough votes?

"Every single election. Maricopa County never changes."

That's because of RAT Governor Katie Hobbs.

In Florida, it was always Miami-Dade and Broward Counties that slow-walked the results. Jeb Bush got rid of one of the slug in Broward County, but put another slug (Brenda Snipes) in her place.

In September 2017, a request was filed to view the Broward County ballots from the 2016 election. Litigation on the request began. In November, Snipes ordered the destruction of 688 boxes containing the ballots. It wasn't until two months later that the court learned that those ballots had been destroyed. Snipes was charged with destroying ballots before the time period had expired.

In 2018, she again slow-walked the election returns. It took 2 weeks to determine who Scott's Senate win. After that fiasco, Rick Scott suspended her. Snipes turned in her resignation letter, then took it back. She filed for a hearing. The Judge in her hearing made no decision about giver her, her job back. Instead, he left the decision up to the new Governor DeSantis. He let her walk away with her pension intact. The corrupt old bag died in 2023.

“And of course, the 2,288 ballots will be just enough to get the Rat elected. This happens over and over again, and ALWAYS helps the democrat.”

Not quite. In Maricopa County, the only election was a recall to oust Mesa City Councilmember Julie Spilsbury from her seat because she was elected as a Republican, but endorsed Harris for POTUS. Spilsbury conceded the recall race to her opponent, Dorean Taylor, on Nov. 5. Turning Point USA led the recall effort. Not sure if Spilsbury can withdraw her concession in light of the newly discovered ballots. (Spilsbury lost the recall by 695 votes - well within the newly discovered 2,288 ballots.)

The remaining elections were all funding votes and bond proposition that will probably not be impacted by the newly found ballots.

There was a Prop 409 was on the ballet mandating more spending for the crazy people.
Most conservatives voted NO and latest says the vote was close.

There is nobody running for anything.
All elections pertain about prop 409 (hospital funding) and several school fundings.
Also, the election people are pretty much republican.
We just voted them in a year ago.

But still it is really concerning.

Elections have consequences, beyond the election itself.

Would you want to live somewhere that has a corrupt election process? Knowing your vote may not ever count.

Would you want to open a business knowing a corrupt government could play games with taxation or regulatory compliance?

Would you want to raise kids in a school district operated by a corrupt government, knowing it may affect quality of education, likelihood of Leftist indoctrination, etc.?

Would you want to have essential services provided by a corrupt Leftist government more concerned with DEI that capability, skill, and knowledge?

Maricopa County Recorder Justin Heap
@azjustinheap
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Maricopa County Recorder Responds to Board of Supervisors Election Error Affecting 2,288 Ballots

“This morning, our office was notified that 2,288 ballots were discovered left behind at a Ballot Replacement Site in Fountain Hills. These ballots were forgotten and left unattended by poll workers employed by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. This mistake is deeply disappointing.

Under Arizona law, Ballot Replacement Sites fall under the statutory responsibilities of the Recorder’s Office, yet despite the clarity of the law the Board of Supervisors has continued to improperly control these locations.

This latest error undermines voter confidence and highlights the ongoing problems caused by the Board’s continued seizure of functions that statutorily belong to the Recorder.

Our immediate priority is to ensure no voter is disenfranchised as a result of the Board’s mistake. The Recorder’s Office is rapidly processing and signature-verifying the impacted ballots to ensure that all lawful votes are counted. Because the signature-curing deadline under A.R.S. § 16-550(A) is 5:00 p.m. today, our team is working urgently to contact every impacted voter, multiple times if necessary, to ensure their ballot is cured and counted.

While errors can occur in a county as large as Maricopa, the repeated mistakes over the past many election cycles have eroded public trust in Maricopa County’s elections. The Recorder’s Office remains committed to transparency, accountability, and ensuring that every valid vote is counted despite the Board’s error.”

“ballot replacement site”
Are they being that open about the fact they replace (change out) ballots?
