of course it was an inside job. Don’t need to be Columbo to figure that out.

I can almost hear the Pink Panther theme playing in the background.

The thieves had to spend an entire 4 minutes in the Louvre to escape with millions in jewelry.
They must have visited before. /S

My sources at the Louvre tell me this guy was in charge of providing power for the security cameras.

Duh...The room had to be empty and locked from the outside with only one person able to access (Bad Boy 1).
They needed particular tools so they would have been there before (Bad Boy. 2)
The camera was on the other side of the balcony so they knew they had to access from right side (They scoped it out (Bad Boy 3)
IIRC, the display was just renovated....hmmm...that's the leader...someone who knew the logistics of everything in the room. Is this Bad Boy 2?
James Bond would be proud!!

By all means tell the group and the world what you’re thinking before arrests are made. (sarcasm)

The question is, why no one at the museum, or even on the ground outside didn't question a cherry picker being raised outside the building in broad daylight to access the first floor where the gallery is located. Not for nothing, but if maintenance is allegedly being done on the building, a member of security should have been accompanying them. If the Louvre doesn't have security roaming outside the building, or have cameras outside focused on the various sides of the building, then shame on them.

Thanks for remembering. It's not easy to remember who says what on this site, because so many articles are posted, and so many people commenting on them all.

Good question. Someone once jokingly said that if you want to walk around the inside of a restricted building, all you’ve got to do is carry a clipboard. Everyone will assume that you belong there.

I guess the same applies to the outside with a cherry picker or scaffolding.

Figuring it out is one thing. Having proof is another.
