President Donald Trump is asking the Supreme Court, for the first time, to clear the way for him to use National Guard troops to support the president’s immigration enforcement and mass deportation drive.
Solicitor General D. John Sauer filed an emergency appeal with the high court Friday, seeking to lift lower-court rulings that are currently preventing Trump from deploying National Guard troops he pressed into federal service to aid Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel in Illinois.
Sauer argued that a temporary restraining order issued by a federal district judge in Illinois “improperly impinges on the President’s authority and needlessly endangers federal personnel and property.”

I don’t think the judge meant than any president of the United States could not use federal troops...
The judge probably meant that President Donald Trump could not use federal troops, or at most, no Republican president could use federal troops... /S.
Didn’t Eisenhower send the guard to Little Rock? Yes.
Didn’t Bush send the guard to LA? Yes.
But can Orange Hitler use the guard to protect federal property? Oh no! That’s something Putin would do!
It’s the end of our bureaucracy, excuse me, democracy!
Somebody sent the Guard to Kent State too!😎
An insurrection was declared as to why those presidents used the NG. Trump has yet to declare anything an insurrection. It’s been discussed per the news, but Trump is not invoking an insurrection, just yet.
At face value these rulings seem to be total horse S. But what do I know, I didn’t go to college and I’m just a pool guy.

If a President can use the National Guard to get a kid into a school...which,IIRC,both Ike and JFK did...then he can use them to save a city from destruction at the hands of criminals.
I am left wondering how the courts can stop the President from deploying troops. What power do they think they have that gives them the right to stop troop deployments? I would love for someone to answer that question cuz I am so sick and tired of the courts thinking they can do that.
I think JFK used the Airborne.
The Sixties had probably more examples.
If trump was a king then why would he need the supreme court?
liberals: umm doesn’t matter he thinks he’s a king
