Senator John Fetterman (D-PA), speaking at a NewsNation town hall meeting, has refused to label Trump voters as “Nazis” or “fascists” and criticized Democrats tying the renewal of Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits to the government shutdown.
During the live broadcast from the Kennedy Center on Wednesday, Fetterman urged members of his party to drop the extreme anti-Trump voter rhetoric against ordinary Americans and called for reduced political tensions following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Fetterman adamantly refused to condemn people who voted for Trump, stating, “I’m the only Democrat in my family. I grew up in a conservative part of Pennsylvania and I grew up and I know and I love people who voted for President Trump. But they are not fascists, they are not Nazis, they are not trying to destroy the constitution and those things.”

Fetterman warned that continued use of extreme rhetoric and name-calling will lead to more violent outcomes such as was seen in the Charlie Kirk assassination, telling the audience, “Like Charlie Kirk, all I could say is let people grieve — give people the space. I’m not going to use that terrible thing and that assassination to make my argument and try to put out my views.”
Fetterman also broke ranks with Democrats on the reasons for the ongoing government shutdown, now entering its 16th day.
Speaking of the role Democrats have played in the current shutdown, Fetterman reminded his audience that the ACA tax credits, which Democrats are insisting be renewed as a condition for supporting a stopgap spending resolution, were designed to expire by the Democrats who passed the ACA in the first place.
Fetterman said, “I would love to have a conversation about extending the tax credits for health care. Absolutely. But I would remind everybody, too, this was DESIGNED by the Democratic Party to expire at the end of the year. This is NOT something taken by the Republicans. They were designed to expire.”

The Pennsylvania Senator told host Chris Cuomo that he was one of only two Democrats voting to keep the government open.
“You don’t hold the government hostage,” Fetterman said, adding that the government shutdown is “what the Democratic Party wants to do.”
Fetterman is the only sane Washington DC DemocRAT.

Fetterman is up for re-election in 2028. I wonder when the DNC will start planning to primary him.
Because Democrats hate it when anyone strays off their plantation.

Fetterman represents what the democrat party once was. He is a lot like Joe Liberman.

But seriously, it does seem like he has enjoyed a significant recovery after his stroke, and praise GOD for that.

Just take them hunting with you... you can call them Shithead. My best dog is “Shithead” though her name is Macie. Everybody that hunts with her calls her that.
I would hazard a guess that he’s showing his fascist colleagues how to actually be a US senator. And they, naturally, want him thrown outf if he can’t be a good plantation dweller.
Primarying him would be a docile act considering how dems in PA and DC like to deal with political opponents.
Fetterman is speaking the truth. The Republicans standing firm are on the right side. Unfortunately, the demoncRATS being ruled by the crazy left progressives refuse to see the rightness of the situation. We the People praise the Republicans and John Fetterman for taking this stance.
