WASHINGTON (AP) — Former President Joe Biden is receiving radiation and hormone therapy as part of a new phase of treating the aggressive form of prostate cancer he was diagnosed with after leaving office, a spokesperson said Saturday.
“As part of a treatment plan for prostate cancer, President Biden is currently undergoing radiation therapy and hormone treatment,” said Biden aide Kelly Scully.

Prostate cancer doesn’t kill you. How it metasticizes(sp?) does.
Early detection saves you.
How was it allowed to go so high with no treatment? Don't they monitor a president's or ex-president's Gleason score at least twice a year?
I did the same thing. PSA was 7.2, it is now 0.11.
Deep State may have decided to hurry things along.
What did Dr. Mrs. BiteMe know and when did she know it.
The standard cut-off is now 70 years old. Believe it or not
“I did the same thing. PSA was 7.2, it is now 0.11.”
I keep a close eye on my PSA. I know it is not perfect, but that and the dreaded DRE are all we have. Prostate cancer that has spread to the bones is not a nice way to exit.
I have heard that there is a new urine test for PC in the works. It is supposed to be much more accurate.
I despise Biden.
I wish him a full recovery.
That’s the difference between us and the satanic left.
Men over age 70 are generally not recommended for routine prostate cancer screening by the AUA and other major health organizations. Here’s why:
Evidence shows that the benefits of screening decline with age. Most prostate cancers in older men grow slowly and may never cause harm within their lifetime.
Potential harms increase: Screening in this age group leads to more false positives, unnecessary biopsies, and risk of overtreatment. Treatments for prostate cancer—like surgery or radiation—can result in serious side effects (incontinence, erectile dysfunction) that often outweigh any benefit, given that these cancers typically progress very slowly.
Life expectancy matters: For men over 70, especially those with less than 10–15 years of expected life remaining, screening is much less likely to improve health or prolong life.
Needed hormone therapy looong time ago. Way too much time before treatment. Once he was staged, should have had hormone (ADT) therapy right away. Then radiation asap. Maybe he cannot even make cogent decisions and he is under conservatorship.
Amen
“The standard cut-off is now 70 years old. Believe it or not”
I turn 70 next year. When I was on Obamacare, the did not pay for *any* preventative services that were specifically for men. I paid for my PSA out of pocket. $20. I am not going to stop doing it.
I thought radiation therapy only works on living tissue.
Question: why not just have the prostate removed?
It could very well be that Biden’s greatest accomplishment will be to get men talking about PC. For that, I salute him.
There are downsides. Major downsides. Look them up.
If the cancer has got to the bone and most likely spread elsewhere, taking the prostate out doesn’t do much as the problem is now a whole body problem. Plus taking out the prostate may not get all of the tumor. He still would need to get ADT(androgen deprivation therapy) and radiation aimed at the prostate and bone metastasis areas . So at least he has the poorly functioning prostate and won’t have as bad ejaculation and/or urination control problems as he would with a prostatectomy. The targeted radiation and ADT suppresses the cancer pretty well in general.
Even if there is no initial evidence of metastasis there still could be spread of the tumor.
Either way, it’s not a perfect situation.
He’ll be gone in a year.
I am now 76 and I visit my urologist twice a year for PSA but get the DRE on annually.
My point is that the PSA and the DRE are both important even over 70. Those that say you don't need them after 70 are basically telling you to play the odds. I don't even go to Las Vegas so I'm not going to gamble with this.
I don’t like him much, either. But I will continue to pray that he comes to know Jesus as his Savior before it’s too late.
Forever is a mighty long time.
