House Speaker Mike Johnson revealed on Fox News this morning that the Democrats will likely keep the government shut down for more than another week until after a scheduled “No Kings” protest against the Trump Administration on October 18.
The shutdown is entering its tenth day on Friday as Democrats continue to vote against reopening. They are demanding taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegals, continued funding for leftwing PBS propaganda, and $1.5 trillion in additional spending.
The No Kings group is planning its demonstration on the National Mall in DC, and "Some of the House Democrats are selling T-shirts for the event," Johnson said.
"It's being told to us that they won't be able to reopen the government until after that rally because they can't face their rabid base."
This comes after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer callously boasted that the shutdown is good for the Democrats, and "every day gets better for us." Meanwhile, many Americans will miss a paycheck because of the Democrats' attempts to appease their radical base and fight for illegal aliens.
Johnson was asked to respond to Schumer's comments on Friday morning, and he told the Fox and Friends panel the real reason why this is good for the Democrats.
"I have had it with these people. They're playing games with real people's lives," Johnson said.
WATCH:
Earhardt: So how do you react when you hear Chuck Schumer saying, every day gets better for us? What about the people who aren't getting paid? What about the women who are here While their husbands are deployed? What about people who are trying to go on vacation or go away for the holiday weekend, and their flights are delayed or canceled? How is that better for everybody?
Johnson: Real harm to real people, and we're hearing it from our constituents. The House Republicans right now are in their districts, working, trying to help people through this crisis that's being created by the Democrats. I mean, it's health services, it's nutrition services for young mothers and infant children. It's, you know, all manner of services that are provided. FEMA, they can't write flood insurance policies in the middle of a hurricane season because of this nonsense, and we're so angry about it.
You know, I'm a very patient guy, but I have had it with these people. They're playing games with real people's lives. The theory we have right now, they have a hate America rally that's scheduled for October 18 on the National Mall. It's all the pro-Hamas wing and the, you know, the Antifa people. They're all coming out. Some of the House Democrats are selling T-shirts for the event, and it's being told to us that they won't be able to reopen the government until after that rally because they can't face their rabid base. I mean, this is, this is serious business hurting real people. And I just, I'm beyond words. I can't believe they're actually doing this.
Mike Johsnon further said in a press release that Congressional Democrats are catering to the radical left groups organizing the October 18 protest after they "spent weeks pressuring Democrats to shut the government down."
"Axios reports that Schumer and his team even established a private “shutdown war room” with progressive activists, unions, and operatives — including MoveOn and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee — to coordinate messaging and strategy. The effort began weeks before the shutdown, with Schumer’s office sharing talking points and campaign-style materials to rally the Far-Left," according to the release.

Thune wouldn’t even try. They always use the lame excuse, “but when Dems get back in power they’ll blah, blah, blah”.
Words of cowards that blew the 94 big win to being the minority in 10 or so years. Same in 2010.
The Dems in Congress need to be arrested.
i smell Ozone incoming
Well that phrase doesn’t mean anything to me as I’ve been called one of those myself - and those who do so make the same kinds arguments she is making here with zero foundation in fact and nonresponsive responses.

The Dems will pull the trigger on this (once they have the votes), just as they’re now pulling other triggers - that is CERTAIN. They WILL do it.
I repeat...again:
Interesting - what bill made it to his desk that he refused to sign / vetoed? None, of course...and I'm sure you know that.
The Democrats have filibustered the continuing resolution. It has not made it out of Congress because of the Democrats. The Republicans are not who blocked the continuing resolution. You know that too, I'm sure.
So what is the purpose of these obviously nonsensical comments you continue to make?
Try actually responding this time. 35 posted on 10/10/2025, 2:58:46 PM by Republi
They were going to last time - they did not have the votes for it because of Sinema and Manchin.
Sure they will. So no reason not for our side to do it.
I’ve never noticed you as a troll
You appear to be lost. I believe you’re looking for democraticunderground.com.
So you’re saying the President is a dictator?
Hey! Republican Wildcat, The CR is still pending in the US Senate... been voted on SIX (6) times so far and still 0 (D) votes in the US Senate... correction, Sen. Fetterman voted Yea making it +1 (D) vote so far.
