The N.F.L. Gets It. Why Don’t Democrats?
The New York Times ^ | Oct. 4, 2025 | Molly Jong-Fast

Posted on 10/04/2025 3:07:37 PM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

Ms. Jong-Fast is the host of the “Fast Politics” podcast and the author of “How to Lose Your Mother: A Daughter’s Memoir.”

Nobody thinks the N.F.L. is run by a bunch of woke libs. Or for that matter, that most N.F.L. fans fit that description. In fact, the team owners, many of whom trend MAGA oligarch, donated $23 million to Republicans in the 2024 election, versus $2.5 million to Democrats. And of course there’s a reason Colin Kaepernick’s career was so resolutely benched. Many woke libs won’t even let their kids play football, not wanting to risk that their meritocratic brains might get concussed.

But the N.F.L. still picked the anti-ICE pop star Bad Bunny to headline the Super Bowl halftime show in February, where he will presumably sing in Spanish at the gladiatorial altar of the American Empire.

Lest you think Bad Bunny is some kind of fake lib, he is not. This summer, he set up residency not in the usual jackpot location of Las Vegas but in Puerto Rico, where he was born, calling the concert series “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” (“I Don’t Want to Leave Here”). Bad Bunny didn’t include the United States mainland in his coming tour, in part because he was worried ICE agents might go after his fans at the shows.

The announcement of the Bad Bunny halftime show has sent the MAGA gang around the bend. Corey Lewandowski, who has been advising the Department of Homeland Security, has said ICE will be on hand at the Super Bowl: “We will find you, we will apprehend you, we will put you in a detention facility and we will deport you.” Go team!

The reason the N.F.L. picked Bad Bunny is the same reason that Jimmy Kimmel’s first show after his suspension had...

Exactly.

Ashes to Ashes and Dust to Dust

The NFL is dead to us

Since 2017.

People don’t know what happened with Kaepernick. He was a devout Christian, very positive. He took a team-friendly deal, that his agent told him not to sign. Then Deion Sanders and Jed York stabbed him in the back and later on TV, about him, then he went on his villain arc. And one of his teammates ex girlfriend filled his head with nonsense.

They’re into the money-you know-Benjamans.

Tom Brady is an owner/commentator. Yeah right. No conflict of interest.
No bull dykes on the networks. Not pretty.
Kapernick couldn’t play-end of story.

The NFL milked Kapernick for the wokesters. National anthems(kneeling) were shown during commercial time. Advocates or scared execs? You tell. me.

Because an option quarterback may surprise defenses for a while, but once defensive coordinators figure him out he'll be pounded into the turf.

Advocates.

Not a single one of them was scared.

All you have to do is remember Jerry Jones kneeling WITH his team with a smug little smirk on his face to understand that.

Picking Bad Bunny for half time means NFL “gets it?” I predict zero chance they don’t withdraw the invitation as sponsors start to feel the heat and Sinclair stations (assuming Super Bowl network affiliations exist) say they’ll pre-empt half time.

“Nobody thinks the N.F.L. is run by a bunch of woke libs.”

I’ve got to tell you… Sometimes these people scare me. I think they actually believe their own bull crap.

I would be more comforted if they didn’t believe it and we’re mouthing it to obtain political goals, but I really think they believe this stuff.

Wow.

The NFL apparently hires Jay Z’s Roc-Nation to select the Superbowl half-time show. Jay Z hates POTUS Trump. The selection of Bad Bunny confirms his bias.

If the NFL really wanted an inclusive half-time show that captures nearly all demographics, it could have selected Post Malone, Jellyroll, Shaboozey, Darius Rucker, etc. Instead, it selected a decisive hater.

Although consumer boycotts have historically been ineffective, the Bud-Light, Target, and Cracker Barrel boycotts show they can work for the right cause. I do not expect conservatives to boycott the Superbowl because of Bad Bunny. But I do believe that conservatives would boycott the Superbowl sponsors over Bad Bunny. Something to think about.

Since I won’t fund the anti-American, pro-terror, communist, Mexican-and-Chinese funded NY Tumes, could someone finish this sentence?

“The reason the N.F.L. picked Bad Bunny is the same reason that Jimmy Kimmel’s first show after his suspension had...”

What’s that reason?

As a side note, Bad Bunny is quite possibly the most untalented person to ever hit the top 40. Even HE sounds like his own “songs” bore the will to live out of him.

I’m pretty sure he not only auto-tunes, but also used computers to establish his rhythm, which virtually assures that he won’t actually be performing at all.

Nobody thinks the N.F.L. is run by a bunch of woke libs. lol - no. The perpetual cascade of faggotry, America-hate, wokism and leftist trash just manifests from the pits of hell against their collective wishes. What dimension is this author typing from?

Why can’t OUR SIDE organize a boycott of Superbowl sponsors? I’m sure the last thing Bud Light wants is to be dragged back down into the “Bud Light sponsors perverts” mud again.

“ Why can’t OUR SIDE organize a boycott of Superbowl sponsors”

Imagine if most of the spectators, realizing they had pledged allegiance to the flag, realizing the vital importance of that, had walked out of the stadiums and proceeded to live worthy lives, instead of staying, day drinking, allowing sedition, mouth breathing and being complete idiots

Label any of these participants anything you want, the NFL is anti American

Anyone who watches, contributes to any of this disgusting behavior who says to me ‘thank you for your service’ is disgusting

No wonder viagra is a big seller.

He’s obviously going to make a pro-illegals statement. Probably a pro-Palestine statement as well.

To quote the gestapo agent in Inglorious Basterds “I grow tired of these monkey shines”.
