Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Blake Treinen paid tribute to conservative activist Charlie Kirk during Friday night’s game against the San Francisco Giants by wearing a hat on the mound that featured Kirk’s name alongside a cross.

Treinen, who speaks openly about his faith, came into the Dodgers’ game in the ninth inning, and fans noticed that the pitcher had a message written on his cap.

He was tagged with the loss. Giants won 5-1 in 10 innings thanks to scoring 4 in the 10th inning. Blake faced three batters and threw 7 pitches but had one walk and was charged with one run (but no earned runs). The final reliever was charged with three earned runs.

I had a Dodger pennant on my wall for 45 years. I gave it to Goodwill after that award was given out. My Catholic pastor had a joke "Dodger fan parking only" sign at his garage. That's gone, and he told the entire congregation that we cannot support such a team. (We are in PHoenix, so it didn't affect many members, but it affected him.)
