Law enforcement officials delivered an update on the manhunt underway for a gunman who killed conservative political activist Charlie Kirk on Wednesday.
Kirk was assassinated during an appearance before several thousand attendees at Utah Valley University in Orem.
The press briefing at the university comes after officials released two people of interest several who had been detained shortly after the shooting.
“There are no current ties to the shooting with either of these individuals,” the Utah Department of Public Safety said in an update late Wednesday.
“There is an ongoing investigation and manhunt for the shooter,” the agency said.
The gunman who killed Kirk targeted him and fired from a campus building 200 yards away from where Kirk was speaking, hitting him once in the neck, according to UVU.
Kirk’s death was announced by President Donald Trump, who praised the influential activist as a “truly Great American Patriot.”

It does appear, by releasing what they have found, they wish to find this shooter unable to speak, even breathe.
Which means, unfortunately, we only get their side of the story.
yeah, it’ll be like the Epstein files the New Jersey drones, JFK Covid, January 6 etc. etc. etc.
If the guy dumped t rhe weapon why didnt he just leave it on the rooftop? Just makes you wonder.
So true.
He thought he could get away with the weapon. The firearm can be traced.
I don’t think he was hit in the neck. I think he was hit on his right side and the wound we see on the left side of his neck is actually an exit wound. This whole thing is not adding up. The shot was supposedly taken at Charlie’s 12 o’clock, but the video does support that in my opinion.
If it IS professional, then it’s important to know who paid him and what the structure of this project has been. More people are involved when money changes hands
Drip Drip Drip. He was on their radar.
Why would the guy leave his rifle behind? I really don’t believe this. Sorry.
Let’s see some wanted posters with the face like now!
Only to the last time it passed through a FFL.
I don’t believe it either.

Just maybe he left behind a different rifle registered to someone else to throw off the investigation....

This seems eerily like Butler, except this guy completed the mission. Crooks was taken out immediately and the body cremated so as to leave no trace. Either Charlie’s killer is on his way out of the country or he’s already dead.
It’s not 200 yards away. It’s 145. Pull up Google maps and measure for yourself. I couldn’t find one possible “200 yard” measure for any building in any direction.
The first mission priority is the assassination. Upon success, the second mission priority is either suicide or escape. Toting a rifle and/bag hinders that escape and also makes one an easier mark as witnesses and cameras TRACK A GUY CARRYING A RIFLE. So, yeah...that's why the guy would leave a rifle behind. It's not rocket science.
So you think the shot came from a grassy knoll and not from the book deposi-— I mean the rooftop?
Here is where to look. They have a diagram in this story.
