With their babies already dead from gang violence, blacks on Chicago’s South Side have "nothing to lose.”
Marquita Salley was inside her house when she heard the gunshots: by the time she ran outside, her 16-year-old boy, Gregory, was bleeding out and dying in the alley behind their home.
That was in March of 2023, and since then, the alleged killer has been caught, and will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars. While Salley admits that her son got into scuffles here and there, she asserts that when it came to the serious crime that swallows so much of South Side’s community, he wasn’t “that type of child.”
Salley has been on the South Side her whole life, so she’s seen the drastic devolution, from a functioning society to what Chicago has become after decades of progressive leftist rule. Here’s Salley’s take, per a report at Fox News:
‘It’s gotten worse from when I grew up until now. When I grew up, I could walk from King Drive to Stony Island without a care in the world. I’m 41 at this time. So in my teenage years… me and my girl cousins, even my boy cousins, all of us together just walking down the street laughing and having a good time,’ Salley said.
‘Right now, my son could tell me he’s walking to the convenience store around the corner. No, you are not. No, you’re not. It's that bad. It has changed tremendously,’ Salley added.
We don’t have to live like this.
Now, Salley is begging for a Trump “intervention,” asking him to do what Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson and state governor JB Pritzker won’t do: make law and order great again. Salley’s mother had this to say:

But your mayor and governor want you all to be robbed, raped and murdered.
Good lawabiding persons deserve to live with dignity. Sad for Chicago.
I don’t want to sound like a jackass but can black people not lift a finger to help do anything?
-
Can’t count how many times in my town a shooting occurs at a black event attended by hundreds and the police have ask if anyone has information leading to who did the shooting contact them.......really? Nobody saw nothing?
This can’t be true!
ABCNNBCBS tells us that Chicago is a quiet and peaceful little town, hardly any crimes at all!.................
The real question all these cites are not asking is why their Union Police forces can’t do the job?
I could fix the entire problem;
Mandate by law - No government police employees unions at all.
Y’all know there is a reason our military cannot
unionize, they can’t function effectively if
they have a union steward that they can
go bitch to.
Full disclosure; Been a union member most all my working life, except in military service, and quasi government employment.
These types of things are why Trump got record numbers of black support and it hasn’t been replicated to others in the GOP. Trump legitimately cares for the black community while many in the GOP just pay it lip service.
And therein is the problem. Crime is okay in black culture as long as it is not "serious" crime, like murder. This is a black problem and it needs to be fixed by blacks themselves.
Mercy me. I live in a gated community with security guards, and we don’t need no stinking National Guard. Tell Trump to keep them out of our city.

I can just imagine living my whole life in a crime-ridden neighborhood and watching what is happening in Washington DC. I would now know that it is possible to end the rampant crime but that my mayor and Governor do not want to do so. Up to now people who live in high crime neighborhoods, and for whatever reason cannot move out, probably thought it was impossible to get rid of the rampant crime.
LEOs need to get out of their cars and walk. Policeman in cars come to the scene of a crime after the crime is committed. Policeman who walk a beat prevent crime from happening.
Hard of hearing Lardass Pritzker and Big Dummy Brandon will ignore the screams of the plantation slaves.
“Crime is okay in black culture as long as it is not “serious” crime”
You obviously have no experience with “black culture”.
“Black culture” in my Chicago area is quite different from “Black culture” I now see in Atlanta... and neither is anything like what you describe.
Given limited resources, I hope Trump doesnt go into Chicago uninvited. He has jurisdiction to go into DC, and that is serving as an example of what can happen.
Let Chicago fester in filth if thats what they want. Go into cities where the Governor and Mayor want assistance. As those cities clean up, it will provide a contrast to the cities that prefer murder and rape over progress.
In what way?
Most Blacks in Atlanta seem to have strong family ties, long ties with the same church.
In Chicago it seemed many Blacks were constantly changing churches, changing family relationships, changing friendships....frustrating to me....changing political relationships. They would be in the anti-Dem machine for 5 or 6 months and then get a job beholden to the machine. Then get pissed off at the unfairness and go rebel again.
I was into building “coalitions”. The Mexicans, Poles, Puerto Ricans, Italians, etc seemed much more reliable long term than the Blacks.
Murder is ok as long as it is a revenge murder. Or, an incidental murder to a black property crime. Innocent bystanders and pregnant baby mommas are off limits.
But here, when a black youth is killed by another black youth, over nothing, the real villains are the po-lease who let the dead player lay in the street until the coroner showed up.
That makes no sense at all.
Obviously black lives don’t matter to those running Chicago.
I blame the welfare program that rewards the mother of a fatherless home more than when the father is present. Think what would happen if the mother received less when the father is not present. If five or six thousand dollars is at stake, I think mothers would try to make the fathers responsible for their children support them. Before the civil rights legislation of the late 1960’s, children born without a father was less than 20%. Now it’s almost 75%. Being a father is easy. Being a parent is not.
Agreed. Don’t subsidize 1 parent families. Create financial incentives (and penalties) for work, education, etc.
