A majority of residents in the nation’s capital are opposed to President Trump’s takeover of the city’s police department, according to a poll released Wednesday.
The latest survey, released The Washington Post, shows 69 percent of participants said they “strongly” oppose the president’s decision to take federal control over the Metropolitan Police Department, and 10 percent said they “somewhat” oppose the move.
Another 9 percent said they “strongly” approve of the Trump administration’s federalization of local police, while 8 percent said they “somewhat” support the crackdown on crime. About 4 percent said they had no opinion, the poll found.

Most of the DC residents are criminals ?

The same majority probably have a favorable view of former Mayor Marion Berry although most were probably not born yet when he was in office.

I think they polled this way because of normalcy bias of what they have been forced to endure. Think of it like how a hostage can fall in love with the hostage taker, never coming to realize they will be killed in the end.
Trump’s takeover is a shock and awe moment revealing how bad the situation is/was and there’s a large bit of mass psychosis in the public.
They polled NW DC
Return DC to Maryland, give them a voting congressperson, they get to vote for Maryland’s two Democratic senators and they can have all the home rule they want so they can be just like Baltimore. In return, the US retains control over the federal area and we get rid of one, perhaps two automatic electoral votes for the Dems and a large group of incessant complainers.

That right there is the TRUTH.
The majority of DC is the HOOD and rich Georgetown liberals that make their money off of the Federal budget.
What was the question?
How about,
“Since the NG took over, are you, or, do you FEEL SAFER?”
may see a bit different results.
I would imagine the bulk of polling came from Georgetown (NW) and center-north...who had real protection prior to all of this. If you approach Anacosta folks and NE corner....the majority like the current situation.
So they polled the faculty lounge at George Mason. I assume their brave reporters didn’t go to the poor black neighborhoods.
