When was the last time Baltimore expanded its city limits?

They actually get a letter directly from me as the mayor that says, change your life. We’ll help you do that. But if you don’t, we will remove you.

Remove how?

> Scott suggested that banning AR-15s would magically decrease violence <

She’s right. After all, Prohibition in the 1920s magically ended all alcohol problems.

Oh, wait. Bootleggers and gangsters were still able to get all the alcohol they wanted.

So never mind.

The Bee gave a great way for Dim-run cities to reduce violence.

Despite claims by President Donald Trump that American cities are being overrun by criminals, Democrat mayors across the country reported that violent crime was actually down 40% since they redefined the words "violent" and "crime."

“.... But if you don’t, we will remove you”

Assuming the target audience is predominately black. And living in primarily Gov housing..

It will be a MONUMENTAL day in the US when a cities or states can start evicting people/ families from gov housing due to bad behaviour.

That is going to be one hell of stick at the city or state’s disposal. and could be a massive turning point.

It will NEVER happen.

I would agree that fewer criminals with guns would help stem crime in many cities. But “gun control” has proven to NOT BE the most effective method for doing that; because gun control laws do not hinder criminals from getting guns if they want them; they are criminals, and care not about the gun control laws.

I think a better strategy would be massive Christian evangelism in the major cities, helping to change social and cultural behaviors.

I think if major U.S. cities were treated by Conservative Christians the way Christians once treated Africa and Asia - which received major Christian evangelism for decades and from which the roots of Christianity there were laid - crime in many major U.S. cities could be brought way down.

I would like to know what percentage of the murders in Baltimore city were committed with legally owned guns. A second statistic would be what percentage of the unsolved murders in Baltimore city we’re committed with legally owned guns. I would be willing to bet the second number is zero and the first number is very small

Just like AMLO’s “Hugs not Guns” approach for the cartels in Mexico. It worked, right?

AR-15s are not used in most crimes, and there’s no clear connection between high-crime cities and AR-15 ownership. The majority of violent crimes are committed with pistols, which are easily concealed. The core issue with crime is the behavior and choices of individuals, not the presence of an inanimate object.

If all guns were banned, criminals would simply turn to other weapons — knife attacks, for example, or, as we recently saw in Cincinnati, groups engaging in racially motivated assaults on isolated victims. Crime ultimately reflects societal attitudes. As a society becomes less civilized, it increasingly tolerates disrespect for personal rights and private property.

Brandon Scott, a racist, proves his incompetence once again. And he is not a dumb guy. Just corrupt, I guess.

...legally owned guns...

You are using the leftist's terminology. Our second amendment says that the RIGHT to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. Meaning that owning guns is legal in ALL cases. It is the illegal USE of guns that must be punished so severely that even the worst of the worst hesitate to do so.

Of course, there are some states in which displaying your firearm in self defense is called an illegal use (brandishing). That has to be corrected.

If you can't be trusted to be armed, you should not be running around loose.

… the most likely to be a victim or perpetrator of gun violence and say, choose, change your life. They actually get a letter directly from me as the mayor that says, change your life….

So, if I’m a victim I get a letter from the mayor advising me to change my life?!* And this is his crime reduction plan?!

*: Change your life yes: get the hell out of Baltimore!
