CACHE, Okla. (KSWO) - Cache Public Schools had an unveiling on Aug. 11 where they showed their brand new electric buses.

School officials say this is a vital step in modernizing transportation for students in their district.

A ribbon cutting was held this afternoon to showcase the 6 brand new electric vehicles.

Officials say the move to electric is more affordable and reliable in the face of volatile diesel prices and shows a real step in improving the students’ experience.

Do they use the same hover technology as Sister Mary Stigmata from the Blues Brothers? The Penguin was way ahead of her time.

Well, I hope they also covered the school grounds with solar panels and windmills, or, better, built a small nuclear electricity generating plant to keep them charged.

Park the EV buses away from each other and from buildings.

Full disclosure: I was against EVs from the start and now oppose Elon Musk for being a traitor to Trump. I’m not evenhanded about this topic.

“””The bus rollout comes courtesy of an EPA grant the district received about a year and a half ago.””””

And when they break down, which they will, they will find the manufacturer out of business and parts are unavailable.

I hope they begin evacuation drills for school students, to quickly get them to leave a burning bus. There have been many incidents of electric buses spontaneously catching fire, particularly the ones with battery packs in the ceiling. Train students to be able to open windows and rear doors, not just the front door.

“shows a real step in improving the students’ experience.”
By learning to flee an electric battery firestorm I suppose.
Rhetorical question: “Why do you think the adults in your life wanted to inflict this on you?”
